Another wonderful installment in the Warriors of the Mist series and an ending perfect for all of those HEA seekers.

5 Warriors, pledged to the Lord and Lady of the River to fight for those in need. They have been battling the Duke of Agathia for some time as he takes over the land and suffuses it with his dark blood magic. Split apart, two try to fight from within, while the others protect the one who called them from without.

Kane was born with dark mage blood but he has never nurtured his 'gift'. His grandfather gave him the mage mark while he was still in the womb, and this, along with his stellar warrior skills allow him to be drafted into the Duke's inner guard. I loved his character. He's chivalrous, has some pretty serious inner demons that he battles, but is loyal and steadfast in his honorable quest, as well. When he finds lady Theda, it's wonderful to see his walls fall and his heart open.

Theda is a great heroine. She's been through hell and back, and yet she keeps fighting. Not so much for herself, but for those she loves. She's determined, smart, strong and willful, and she's not afraid to go after what she wants. In this case, what she ends up wanting is Kane, and their romance grows sweetly at first and then burns with a fire hard to ignore.

I've really enjoyed this series since book #1, and seeing everything come full circle was utterly enjoyable. I think this is the last book of the series, but Alexis did some things with some 'extra' characters that I can see turning into some novellas or a spin off possibly in the future.

Alexis Morgan concludes her Warriors of the Mist series with her latest book, Honor's Price. Morgan is a very versatile writer that shifts between genres. The combination of history and magic in this series is exceptional. Readers who are looking for something different should try this fantasy romance series for it's unique blending of elements. Morgan uses strong characters with magical abilities to create a world that is both historical in nature, and full of surprises. A great conclusion to an amazing series.

What I liked:

This a series that I think the reader needs to read from the beginning for a lot of reasons. The most important being the fact that Honor's Price is the third and final book in the series and Morgan spends a great deal of time wrapping everything up and giving readers a chance to see what is happening in the lives of the characters from previous books. I liked the fact that Morgan doesn't leave readers in the dark about the future of the characters they have grown to care about. It was a great touch!

This series centers around five damned warriors who fight for good at the behest of the Lady and Lord of the River. Their latest quest is to help Lady Merewen protect the kingdom of Agathia from the dark influence of Lord Keirthan. The warriors are invincible, immortal and ready for action in Honor's Price. It is the final showdown between the warriors and the Duke. This particular story focuses on Kane, a warrior that is marked with a dark blood mage mark on his face. He infiltrates the Duke's inner circle and by chance meets the woman of his dreams, Lady Theda. Without a lot of the background I think readers would loose a lot of the nuances and exceptional parts of this book.

Honor's Price is the third and culminating book in the story of the Warriors of the Mist. In the previous two books, readers learned about the five damned warriors for the Lady and Lord of the River, destined to an immortal existence of being called from the river to help those in need. Most recently, the honorable Lady Merewen requested aid from the Warriors to combat a growing evil spreading across the kingdom of Agathia at the hand of the evil Duke Keirthan. After winning small battles against the Duke and his men and with time growing short, the Warriors prepare for the final showdown.

The plot of Honor’s Price focuses on the warrior Kane, who carries the visible mark of a dark mage upon his face. In order to discover how to best defeat the Duke, Kane, along with comrade Averel, enters the capital undercover as a mercenary looking for work. Because of his proclivity for magic, the Duke recruits Kane for his personal guard, hoping to use the dark magic within Kane to fuel is own evil creations. However, Kane finds an unlikely ally in the Duke’s sister-in-law, Lady Theda, who lives at the mercy of the Duke’s machinations. With time running short, the Warriors of the Mist must find a way to save Lady Merewen’s land from permanent darkness.

Overall, I enjoyed the Warriors of the Mist trilogy, and recommend the series for fans of fantasy and romance; however due to the overarching nature of the story, I would not recommend starting with Honor’s Price. One thing that I enjoyed most is that the book neatly wraps up the entire three-book saga and continues sharing the stories of previously featured hero/heroine pairings.
