Another great single, January 22, 2004
This review is from: Honour 2003 (Audio CD)
This is the most recent release from VNV Nation. It is dedicated to where the band has come from and where they are going. It has four tracks and also includes a bonus teaser trailer to the fourthcoming Past Perfect DVD. Track one the title track is a remade version of the song Honour from the album " Praise the Fallen". It was the first song which got VNV the recognition they have today. Second and third tracks are live versions of the songs Fearless, and Legion. Fearless sounds about the same as the album version. Minus it being live. Legion on the other hand has been redone for the live shows to give it a more dramatic tone. Starting slow then going into the fast pace synth beats. And last and most importantly to the major VNV fans is the song Second Skin. An all new track recorded just for this release. Keeping with VNV tradition of releasing an unreleased song on their singles. If your a fan of VNV you must own this cd. If you have never seen them live this will give you an idea of how good they sound that way. Almost as good as the studio recordings if you ask me. Just buy this single it is well worth it. Honouring their fans: VNV NATION excels again, November 23, 2006
This review is from: Honour 2003 (Audio CD)
I am well on my way of acquiring the full range of VNV Nation's CD's and EP's. They are one of a few great electronic/industrial fusion groups out there today. This 4 song CD release comes just before the premier DVD release of 'FuturePerfect'. This album was released in early 2003 and is a pleaser for any VNV Nation fan. Ronan Harris and Mark Jackson are the duo who are behind VNV Nation that stands for Victory Not Vengeance. The working line behind this short CD is 'The strength of our future lies in our past'. Which is a very true statement in today's world.
The songs are classic and basic VNV Nation. 'Fearless' and 'Legion' are live versions and I am very impressed by the amped up dark tone of Legion, better than the album version. The previously unreleased 'Second Skin' is a great sounding dance beat song with a industrial dark edge to it. This CD comes with a ROM track of the trailer for 'FuturePerfect' that is a nice 3 minute image based track with great background benchmark 'VNV Nation.
This CD is for all and any VNV Nation fan. A must buy.
