About the Author

Ruth Maddock studied fashion at Epsom Art School - now the University of the Creative Arts - and eventually found her niche working as a hand knit, machine knit and crochet designer. Ruth is now an internationally published author, an experienced teacher of pattern cutting and garment construction, and a regular contributor to all the major UK knit and crochet magazines. She also designs for several UK yarn spinners, and in 2011 opened her own local yarn store in Bromyard, Herefordshire, where she runs regular workshops on crochet, knitting and sewing.

More About the Author

Ruth Maddock is a wife, mother of 4 grown up children, a handknit and crochet designer and yarn shop owner. She lives in a 16th century farmhouse in Herefordshire, England with her husband Mark, her youngest son, one dog, 2 cats, and assorted chickens.

She works as a designer for most of the major UK craft magazines, and has contributed to a number of books. She has also authored two books, 'Designer Knits' (also known as 'Creative Knits') - under her maiden name of Ruth Maria Swepson, and 'Hooked on Crochet' published by Bloomsbury Visual Arts - available in October 2014.

She is a practicing Christian with a keen interest in current affairs especially when linked with biblical prophecy. As a result of her own journey, and the experience gained from mothering her lively brood she also takes an interest in health and nutrition, Christian healing and alternative therapies.

Her book 'Mothering Sundae' brings some of these threads together in her first self published Christian book which is available as a Kindle ebook and as a paperback - both from Amazon.
