Really fun hats that represent just about every style! The book is spiral bound for easy use, and the big color photos show every stitch in detail. Layout and presentation of patterns is excellent. A book to use over and over.

This book features an array of fun and stylish hats that look complicated but actually easy to make. I've made three hats following the instruction in the book and they all turned out great. Highly recommended!

A friend and I went to New York City and she saw a basket-weave patterned hat which she loved. (There is a similar stitch pattern in the Throws book.) I told her I could make one similar for much less. I made her the Summer Breeze Brimmed Hat, and then made an identical one for her daughter and an alpaca version for my daughter. I have three more hats "on order," and would also like to make one for me. It was a very easy hat to make and had a different look depending on what type of yarn was chosen. The author is very thoughtful about including stitch explanations and other crochet definitions, and the photos are great. Beginners should find all of her books easy and very helpful.

I bought this book because my granddaughter wanted a hat she saw on line which was cute, but too expensive for me. I have never crocheted hats before and the instructions were easy to follow. I made 6 hats in a week, and I plan to make more. Enjoy the book.

This book is loaded with bright and colorful pictures on every page and yield very nice detailed instructions with pictures of stitches so most anyone can understand and complete the projects effortlessly.
I would have given this book an A, but couldn't because some of the hats were down right ridiculous and a few of the hat projects looked similar to other ones in the book. However, there are not only hats for women but also small children and men. So, I guess for a beginner - this is a good place to start.

Great book, spiral binding, lies flat for working, good pictures. I have made 5 of the hats, multiple times. Very easy patterns. Very versitile also, easy to do yarn substitutions. Made boy's hat for my grandson, made Cloche Hat for myself & sister, made several versions of the flower that is on the cover. Thick yarn K hook large flower, WW yarn I hook med. flower, Bamboo Spa yarn used a F hook, delicate silkly flower. Book is good reference and great value.

Dear Fellow Crocheters,
This book has some nice basic patterns - no "right now" designs like slouch hats - but I think you will find some in here that will be to your liking.

I LOVE this book so far. My favorite part is the detailed instructions on how to do stitches with photographs at the back of the book.
I made the "simple stuff" beanie, it turned out wider than I expected but I am assuming I added some extra stitches since I am new at this. I improvised, used the illustrations/instructions in the back to decrease, and the end result was still cute. |
