I bought this program when I ran upon it one day. I didn't have the extra money but I thought it was money put to good use. Boy was I glad that I did! My son is 4 years old and very bright. He loves to read and learn. I am have an Elem Ed. teaching certificate in Florida and have taught grades 2-5 for 4 years. This program has such a nice flow that I have to wonder why school systems don't use this. We started about 2 months ago and he is just about to graduate to level 3. That is a first grade reading level. I think our country is so far behind others, because we under estimate our children's abilities. Reading to them early in their lives really does make a difference. This program just brought everything I had taught him prior to this together. He so excited about learning to read and is enjoying it. He loves to earn the stickers and other rewards that I give him for his success. Try it, it definitly is great, you just have to be willing to put the time in with them. The children are our future. Let's invest!

The Hooked on Phonics program is great and without a doubt will help my children advance in reading. Both my children (3 and 6 years old) think the product is fun and they ask to do it. It makes learning easy and fun. However, I failed to read the review that mentioned the audio tapes! I had to ask my grandparents for a tape player! Who uses tapes anymore???? So although I like the product and my seller was great I think it needs to be made clear that it includes audio tapes so people may consider buying a more updated product if they haven't archived a tape player somewhere!

We live overseas so this product has been great in teaching our youngest how to read in English. She loves to see how she is progressing and giving herself stickers. We do not however use the recordings as ours came with cassettes and we do not have a cassette player. We seem to be getting along just fine without it.

It has one CD-Rom that was the best part about the program. It kept track of the number of words they knew how to read and they thought that was great! The books are easy to read in an excellent order for beginners. The info for parents is helpful although just reading all of the books together with your child over and over is the best thing you can do! Great program! Both of my kids were reading at the start of kindergarten.

This product will help my child read better. I have a Hooked on Phonics for an older child of mine and it is done on the computer (which I thought was how this one was). When I got this system it has an audio tape, my problem was we don't have a tape player anymore (cd's, cd-rom,I-pod,etc.)So I had to scramble to find one. I am a true believer in the Phonics system, just was a little surprised to see an audio tape. We have been using it and he will get great benefit from it. I love the Hooked on Phonics System.

I would appreciatted if someone could clarified me if tis product contains CDs o Cassettes.
