Great Projects,

This review is from: Hooked Throws: 20 Easy Crochet Projects (Spiral-bound)
This book is full of beautifully photographed and well-written patterns for a variety of projects; I began two of them immediately. There is an excellent "how to" section at the back with super close-up photos and clear explanations of how to make each type of stitch, including the Tunisian stitch.

So easy! This really got me a head start on all my crocheting friends. I had 2 throws done in a couple weeks after first picking up this fabulous hobby, and both throws were from this book. Great!

I am a self-taught beginner crochet. I wanted to learn some new patterns so I can create more than just scarves. I have collected a library of books already but this one was what I was looking for - the directions are clear and accurate, the photos of the stitches helpful and the patterns are not too difficult to learn, Now I can create more than scarves!

Hooked Throws: 20 Easy Crochet Projects
This is a terrific book! I too am self taught and this book was very easy to use - I've made 3 throws already and I'm working on a "baby" throw right now - the yarns they suggest are common and can be found anywhere - this one really got my creative side moving and I'm already thinking of other colors to switch out to go with other decor! The spiral book makes it easy to keep a page open while you work!

Unique Throws,
By
This review is from: Hooked Throws: 20 Easy Crochet Projects (Spiral-bound)
This book is perfect for unique shawls and throws. The use of speciality yarns to will result in throws that any crocheter can be proud to display in their home or give as a gift. Although the books says it is for a beginner, the patterns seem more geared towards an advanced beginner. However, all the stitches are explained in the back of the book. One thing that is very helpful is that this book has a key that explains specific abbreviations used in the patterns and remains true to that key throughout the book. (Sadly, this is not the case in all crochet books.) The binding is wonderful because the pages will not tear out, bend, or crease. This book would be a great gift by itself. If you are looking for something out of the ordinary, with graphic pictures, using higher end yarn, and not too much stress learning intricate stitches, this book is perfect.

This book fails to give complete photo's of the projects, and the directions leave much to be desired. If you are new to crochet stay away. I had bought this book based on the reviews, I am an experienced crochet artist and I was confused on the first project. these directions are not easy to follow and the book would be greatly enhanced by either diagrams or photos of the more complicated turns and ideas in the book. If you are experienced and are good at improvising you can do this book. the only good thing I can say is the spiral binding makes it easy to carry along.

Wonderful,

I recommend this book because the patterns are simple and the photos are complete in detail which makes it possible to count the stitches based on the photos alone. I do not agree that the yarns used are "easy to find", nor are they inexpensive. Nevertheless, if you want a finished project that looks as wonderful as the picture, purchase the correct yarn and enjoy making it.

This "how to" book is fantastic and very easy to read and understand! I only wish it were entirely spiral bound so it lays flat and takes up less room. Great photos in this book as well. I would easily recommend it.

What fun! The book is full of interesting patterns and suggested colors for the afghans, and wraps. I have made one already and enjoyed every stitch.

I have finished two throws and am ready to start a third. The patterns are nice, pictures are nice, too. I'm pleased with this purchase and thought the price was fair.
