About the Author

Tila Tequila (née Nguyen), is a model, entertainer, and singer who lives in West Hollywood, California. She is known for her photographs in Stuff, Maxim, Time, Penthouse, her hit MTV reality dating show A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila, and her position as the most popular artist on MySpace. Nguyen was born in Singapore and raised in Houston, Texas.

I came across this book in a Borders and picked up, probably laughing at it and that I could be seen in a book store reading this book.

A half hour later I put it down. Tila actually kind of impressed the hell out of me. Her courage in raising herself to where she's gotten, disrespectable as some people may think her place is, is truly exceptional. She comes from a hard background, actually has some good advice and interesting experiences, and put together a pretty fun and raunchy and not-too-bad-in-the-advice column book.

Book made me like Tila about 10x more than before I picked up the book. Congrats Tila!

I bought this book to learn more about Tila's vietnamese culture and her relationship with her family.

However, she makes sure to note later in the book that she totally separates her family from her career. Even before her insane popularity -- back when you could read her bio for free in her blog -- she barely talked about her parents.

So... I guess I have to meet her to learn more about that. But this book is really encouraging. It is a good book for those who want to pursue difficult careers or are met with a lot of challenges to achieve their dreams.

The only thing I disagree with is that she says you must make sacrifices to get what you want. Her sacrifice was being a whore. Being a stripper and having sugar daddies. That's not a sacrifice, that is compromising yourself. But if you're willing to do that, then I guess that's fine. But what options do men or unattractive girls have. Its easy for her to say "make sacrifice" because her sacrifice makes great money for an attractive asian girl. What about others. I don't get what she really means here.

And I like having a collection of her sexy photos. It inspired me to dress better and be a better flirt, lol.

And lastly, I just want to note that if you already are attracted to Tila, you will be even more attracted after reading this book because she talks about love and sex life a lot. And its true that that only makes you want a girl more when she starts talking about it.

Tila's story lines pulled me into to the pages and made me feel like
falling in love for the first time (into the book face-down (only kidding) -
except that the source and the object of that feeling
wasn't her or someone else --- it was me.

Objectivly, Tila provides a story of herself and the hardships she
encounterd. Out of that story come inspirational methods and
tested and true techniques of using those approaches wherever
you want to go in life and truly following your own path and using
your whole body, mind and passion to make it all happen.

Tila admits her own mistakes made along the way to her success (kinda
defying the myth of her being a immortal goddess (awww!) and that
she learned to turn the losses from her mistakes into wins
by re-inventing herself into something else so she could get herself
behind herself and bring herself a success, as she needed to
in order to achieve what she desired and what was inspiring her.
Tila explains that as she kept expanding this always moved
forward, her greater challenges became her greater fulfillments
and the scale of what she was capable continued to grow and grow
and it keeps on going. It may SOUND too good to be true, but this
is a brutally honest attempt to share with everyone else in the
world who can read it, that she was always sure she could do it,
but she had to make the changes her.

Read the book, examine your own feelings. I read the book
standing in one corner of the book store, trying not to have
the partrons around me see the outside cover, but before I knew
it I was done and half the store employee had walked by me.
I had blissed out and gone into a trance. That normally only
happens to me with Beethoven and Federico Fellini films. Wow!

If you think it will just be a bunch of crud, borrow it from
someone first, just make sure you give it back!!!
