4.0 out of 5 stars Sophmoric? Oh yeah...but terribly funny...., April 17, 2000
This review is from: Hooray for Boobies (Audio CD)
As a 39 year old feminist author, I almost flinched when I bought this CD. Bought it for The Bad Touch and came to just love the rest of it. Sophmoric? Oh yeah. Stupid lyrics? Oh yeah. So un-PC it would make a redneck cringe? Yep. But funny, terribly funny and created with a tongue-in-cheek tone that permeates the CD. These boys know what they're saying--the cultural references in the songs show us that; they are being just as superficial as our society is and they are having fun doing so. Most of the tunes are very catchy and good for dancing; if you lighten up, have a sense of humor then you can find the fun and life in this album that really is about having no life at all. I *could* be terribly offended by the lyrics, but I find myself laughing too much to get to that point. Fave tracks are Take The Long Way Home and, of course, The Bad Touch.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sophmoric, crude yet smart and clever, March 29, 2000

This review is from: Hooray for Boobies (Audio CD)
The first time I heard Hooray for Boobies, I thought it was funny but silly. After listening to it further and reading the lyrics I found that these guys were smart. With references to Catcher in the Rye and Voltaire's Candide(I thought I was the only person around that read that!) Jimmy Pop is not a dumb white guy. In addition there are clever rhymes and puns. Everytime I listen to it, I pick up something I previously had missed. The songs have great beats and guitar riffs. I hope you die, three point one four(hidden meaning), Mope, Chasey Lain, and the bad touch are just a few of my favorites. I also like it because these guys aren't afraid to talk about controversial things and some of their songs could be very offensive to some people. I definitely recommend this album to anyone who likes rock, rap, and/or hip hop. Listen to it with an open mind and you will appreciate the humor.

5.0 out of 5 stars 6 stars, March 11, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Hooray for Boobies (Audio CD)
I really liked this CD. Not only is the music really good but the lyrics are outstanding. On "Three Point One Four": I need to find A, new vaginA. It's great. On "The bad touch": You and me baby ain't nothin' but mamals, So let's do it like thay do on the discovery channel." The entire CD has a huge sexual connotation and it's hilarious. They've got pac-man on crack, homer simpson and many other great lyrics. If you're easily offended then you probably shouldn't get this CD but to every one else its a must buy.
