The part I received is not the same as the picture, but an off brand, so beware what people may be sending you. I ordered this product on Amazon after finding that all of the local stores like Target, Walmart, Shopko, etc no longer carried replacement filters for our vac. The filter seems to work okay, but it is not exactly the same quality or type of plastic as the previous genuine hoover filters I used in the past. It was difficult to get on the top mount, but went on with what seemed an excessive amount of force followed by a snapping sound that is usually associated with breaking plastic. Everything seemed solid and it works though, and I could find no cracks in the vacuum part.

Follow-up Edit :
I received the replacement which is indeed a genuine Hoover filter. I didn't have to pay any additional shipping either. The situation has been resolved to my satisfaction. I would also like to reflect on that GoVaccum has acted professionally and have been willing and done everything they could to remedy the situation.

The rating does stay at 3 stars though, as the review is as much about the overall shopping experience as it is about the product itself.

Received an email from GoVaccuum on this issue. Per them, it's not their fault but Amazon's fault as the order was fulfilled by Amazon. Nevertheless, they have offerred to remedy the situation by sending a genuine Hoover filter. It was recently shipped so I haven't received it yet. Will post a follow-up once I receive the Genuine filter. So far, GoVaccuum has been willing and acting to remedy the situation. So I am changing my rating from 1 star to 3 star. I will review my ratings again once the issue has been resolved to closure.

Bought early Feb 2009. Received a 3rd party filter not a hoover branded one. I am seeking a replacement with the original or it's going back for a full refund. And I am not paying return shipping either. Time to call up BBB and credit card company (to report GoVaccuum's practice) as well to keep them in the loop. If I am out even a single penny, am filing a chargeback with the credit card company. Nothing pisses me off as dishonest business practices. I mean I am keeping my end with the payment...why can't the seller do the same?

The product name says Hoover and the picture is an official Hoover product, but I received a third party replacement part. This is false advertising. I am returning it. Shame on Amazon for doing this. Change the picture to the product you are shipping.

I have purchased these filters directly from Hoover before and was very satisfied. I was lured in because the price on Amazon was significantly lower. I read some of the poor reviews but somehow thought I would be the exception. Boy was I wrong. The filters sent are not in the genuine Hoover packaging as in the picture. Instead, they are cheap knock-offs. I will no longer trust Amazon as in my opinion this was outright fraud.

This item is a practical necessity since I am fond of my Hoover vacuum. Do not order this item from True Value since they only send you one filter and they are not responsive to customer emails, whether it is sent through their website or through Amazon.

Have bought this product several times for my Hoover Foldaway vacuum. The last couple of times when I have changed filters, the opening at the top to attach filter to holder, is too small and I have had to enlarge the opening, by cutting away the plastic, which is not an easy task, to make it fit. I would think that whoever is making filters for this cleaner should look into this problem.

Like similar reviews in past years I'm hear to tell you nothing has changed with this product. The filters that came are not Hoover parts but a no-name brand and came in a zip lock bag. Then to my surprise they didn't even fit my vacuum cleaner. The opening is about .25 of an inch too small to slide into the Hoover part. I will seek to return these filters.

This is the second time I ordered filters. I'm very annoyed

I was very happy with the product. Even better than the generic one I purchased earlier in the year. Price was exceptional and the Amazon quick delivery was a major plus.

When I got my shipment the filters were not in protective packaging as seen in the advertisement. The filters were loose in the box, and when I looked at the filters there was nothing on them to denote they were Hoover allergen filters. Who knows what company produces these filters.
