I was apprehensive of purchasing new vacuum, but after reading a consumer report magazine has rater this wonder THE top number one in cordless vacuums I went for it. And I'm glad for it too. This baby has the power to clean carpets and hard floors of dirt, (really long hair) and dust that has not been removed by beating the carpets senseless outside. I was surprised just how much dust it sucked out of the small runner rugs! So YAY for the all allergic people out there (my self included). The filter comes out and can be gently wiped then beaten to cleanliness, or washed (but must be 48h dried before use). The basket empties easily and the whole thing disassemble in seconds. The battery usually charges about 2 hours but should be charged for 3h, it will let you clean 3 room house 3x if u got a lot of carpets, 5x on hard floors. and the best thing, it does not sit in the charger permanently eating up your electricity. It is a bit on the heavy side (form an elderly woman point of view) but not unreasonably so, which makes it very stable and sturdy. It also makes up for it's only minor inconvenience in suburb performance. In other words, I would buy it for my granny in a heart beat!

The only small negative is that it comes in 3 parts and needs to be assembled, though assembly is very easy and requires neither brawn nor brains. So an 8 year old kid can put it together. But then even store purchased vacuums usually come with assembly needed, so this is really not such a big deal.

Pros: It's lightweight and the battery life is pretty good. It picks up dirt and pet hair.

CONS: A LOT of the pet hair, human hair, dust and dirt stick to the bottom and get hung up in the brush assembly (even though I don't run the brush assembly), instead of going in the collection bin. I spend about 10 minutes after every use cleaning the Hoover with my full-size Dyson. I have to vacuum the bottom of the Hoover and pluck and pull the hair from the brush assembly. Also, if I go from tile to carpet, all the stuff stuck to the bottom will dump on the carpet/rug.

I will keep using it for daily sweeping on my tile only, and not try to use it on carpet or bathroom rugs. For that, it's decent. And I will keep hauling out the big, clunky Dyson to clean it up when I'm done, even though the whole point of buying the Hoover was to not have to use the big, clunky Dyson daily (I DO love my Dyson DC14, I just wanted something small and efficient for every day use). It is still better than using the Dyson for daily sweeping, but disappointing that I have to clean the unit after every use.

I bought our Hoover 4 years ago. We use it daily to clean mostly bare floors--laminate and tile--but also clean area carpets and small sections of pile carpet with it. We had to have it repaired once (the good news is, it CAN be repaired) but otherwise, it has been consistently reliable. We vacuum kitty litter daily, plus cat hair. Contrary to one review, we have no problem with the brush collecting stuff; we do use the brush setting frequently though and I'm guessing it is self-cleaning. It is easy to empty the canister, easy to tell when the battery is running low, and easy to use. Do clean the filter at the top of the canister often (weekly?). The smaller head makes it much easier to negotiate around table legs and corners than a large vacuum.

Bought this from Amazon and had to return it two times, now the roller burses are not working... Battery went first than it would not turn on half the time. There trying to sell this for $300.00 now and you can buy it from Macys for $169.00, still not worth it.
