Yes it really sucks - in the best way! I've previously used a Hoover consumer vac for 10 years before it finally gave up the ghost from what I consider normal wear and tear. This commercial version is worth the modest premium in price. It is built well and is easy to use. Most importantly, it is the best cleaning vac on both bare floor and carpet that I've ever used. If you want a quality, highly effective product, buy it!

We use this vacuum for our gym, and it has been a nightmare from the beginning. I have had it fixed three times (in less than three years) and probably spent more trying to fix it than I did on the vacuum. Hair gets wrapped around the bottom and we are constantly having to take it apart to get it off. Even then it doesn't work correctly. The front cover also falls off all the time because it doesn't snap on correctly, and the suction is awful. Do NOT buy this vacuum.

I'm a professional cleaner, after doing my research I chose to go with this vacuum for a number of reasons. I've had it for a month now, have cleaned several homes and have been very happy with it's performance as it is a tough, powerful vacuum. My only beef with it is the power cord, it's made of a softer material than other vac power cords, as a result it doesn't take much to put a nick into the cord. After having ran over the cord a few times there are several nicks exposing wires for which I will now have to replace. I've never seen a vacuum do this, it's rather disappointing considering it's supposed to be "commercial grade". For the light home user perhaps it's not an issue, just be sure you don't run over your power cord.

Bought to replace a Hoover PowerMax 2. Received vacuum 3 days after ordering, told it would be week to 10 days! Easy to put together, the bag and belt were already on sweeper. Two screws to attach the handle. The screws are so long the bag compartment lid does not fit tightly after installing the handle. The handle is a cheap hollow feeling piece of plastic. I don't expect it to last very long without cracking. If I had tested the sweeper in a store I would not have bought it. The on/off switch is on the lower left side ledge above the bag compartment. Very awkward position, you need to be 3' tall for it to be easy to reach. Why can't they position the on/off button on the handle? The cord is thick orange industrial looking and way too thick to fit in the plastic molded built-in cord holders on the back of the vacuum. I'll trip over cord each time I use it. The motor is powerful and picks up well, however it is tiring to use even at a medium, not low carpet height, seems like I'm fighting to push it across the floor. The hose and extension wands are not tall enough to reach the corner of the ceiling when I'm directly below it. So less than 8 1/2'extension. Hoping the extension wands from the sweeper this is replacing will fit on the ones that came with it. May return it, not at all what I expected.

This was an excellent buy - I checked several places and this was the lowest price. I was also very pleased with how quickly the vacuum arrived (and in excellent condition!). We will certainly check back with this seller if we need anything in the future.
