The product did a great job at cleaning and was lightweight and easy to use.

Yes it works a little better, but not nearly at the level of a real heavy duty unit like Hoover makes.

My Max Extract usually fills up the dirty water tank just as the clean water tank is almost empty.

Assembly for this shampooer couldn't have been any easier - attach the three sections and screw them down - took less than a minute. At first glance, this shampooer looks too lighweight to pack much of a punch - but I was pleasantly surprised at how much power it had and how well it cleaned my rug. The two rollers did a great job of pulling as much dirt out of my rug as my larger machines did.

Pros: This machine is smaller and lighter than most other shampooers, but still does a pretty good job of cleaning carpets, after cleaning my dirtiest rug that the dogs lie on, the dirty water tank was very dark with some sludge at the bottom - so this definitely pulled out plenty of dirt and grime, no complaints there.
This appears to be somewhat of a redesign for Hoover - as the clean water tank and dirty water tank are a different design from older models, I think I like it. I definitely prefer the way this new dirty water tank has a lock down lid - no danger of accidental spills like the old design.
The clean and dirty water tanks are smaller than on most other hoover shampooers - which can be a pro and a con - the smaller tanks, makes this shampooer as easy to push around as a vacuum, but it also means you'll have to empty them more frequently.
Suction appears to be pretty good - the dirty water tank had almost as much dirty water as the clean that I filled originally, so it sucked most of the water back out.
Cons - for upholstery or stairs, you have to attach the hose to the clean water port and to the dirty water tank - I prefer those with the hose permanently attached so all you have to do is unwind it and go, then easily switch back to the brushroll. Not a huge deal, but just not quite as convenient as I like it.

I tend to procrastinate when it comes to washing carpets. The machines are heavy, messy and unwieldy and the results are usually subpar. Hiring carpet cleaners is expensive and inconvenient and no guarantee of quality. This Hoover promises a thorough clean with a lightweight, maneuverable machine.

Not being mechanically inclined I was somewhat daunted when I opened the box and saw all the parts. But it was manageable and I got it up and running in a little less than a half hour. The machine is surprisingly lightweight, no doubt attributable to the plastic construction. The two tanks, one for the cleaning solution/clean water and the other for dirty water, were easy to remove and re-insert. The included accessary set included which contains a stair tool, an upholstery tool, an 8 foot hose, a bottle of cleaner and a mesh storage bag. There is a one year limited warranty.

Ultimately, the real test is how it performs. I used this first on half of a carpet with what is best described as a medium low pile. The two beating brushes seemed to be effective and the machine was easy to move. I did, per the instructions, vacuum the rug first and I also followed the initial wash with a rinse. The difference between the two sides was noticeable and I was satisfied.

This machine has a lot going for it. It is easy to use and works well. Durability and reliability have yet to be established although it seems to be sturdy enough. Maintenance appears to be limited to keeping the tanks clean and occasionally replacing the belt. My experience with other Hoover products has been positive and I expect no less of this machine.

So, when you first get the box, you're going to wonder where the rest of it is. This unit comes "broken down" into many parts and there is what first appears to be "substantial" assembly required. However, once you get into it, there really are just three steps, though the tricky bit is getting the longish screws aligned an tightened. Take your time and it should be okay.

The unit does seem flimsy at first, but I am sure the design was to be as light as possible. Durability is a bit of a concern, however today's composite parts are sometimes stronger than steel. The dual brush rollers do seem to raise the nap of the carpet better than one roller, or the rotating brushes of others. Personally I feel some of the weight sacrifice came at the cost of a lot of suction power. 10-20% more vacuum would make this a really good unit.

The tanks are generous and they pull out and go back in easily...so far not so easily to pop out when you don't want them to. The one really nice feature is the ability for the unit to tilt down by the handle so you can get further under low furniture fronts and tables. I've tested and reviewed other similar models. Had I bought this at the stated price, I think I would have gotten a fair value. If my house had 2,000 square feet of carpet to do on a semi-regular basis, some of the other, heavier duty units would be better. However, I have just three rooms of carpet and the light weight and compact size is a reasonable trade-off.

In a nutshell, its a decent shampooer, well, it's not a shampooer, it's a 'carpet washer'. Not sure why the name change, but it's more lightweight that a traditional shampooer.

My wife was able to put this washer together in under an hour with no assistance.

The cleaning brushes remind me of vacuum rollers, but they do work on thin carpeting. We tried the washer on thick pile carpeting and all it did was get it wet and suck up the wetness. Not much cleaning action. But on thin pile, or indoor/outdoor type pile this washer is a cleaning beast.

The dual liquid containers are small and need frequent changes. The vacuum suction is adequate, but the carpet stills needs a couple of hours for a complete dry.

If you have thin pile carpet this washer is excellent, but skip it for thick pile carpet.
