This review is from: Hoover Dual V Tank For Hoover V2 SteamVacs
If you purchased a Hoover V2 or like cleaner (there are many variations of the same machine - I think I actually own one labeled "Maytag" even though it came with a "Hoover" instruction manual) in the somewhat distant past, then it is very likely that you were a victim of the shoddy water tank that used to come with the unit. Mine cracked and became unusable after only two sessions. Having paid nearly $300 for the carpet shampooer (I refuse to call it a "steam" cleaner as there's no steam involved) and realizing that replacement parts were equally likely to fail, I set about using a silicone sealant to "fix" the cracks and render the tank usable again. Despite my best efforts, the tank remained "leaky," but I was nonetheless able to use the machine again (as long as I brought along a towel to "mop up"). I spent two years with my Hoover carpet shampooer in this condition, until I saw this product, which was being sold with the claim that it was an enhanced design.
After purchasing and installing this product, I'm happy to say that I can shampoo my carpets leak-free once again. The product is a major improvement over the "old-style" water tank and is of far better construction. It's what Hoover should have produced at the outset, and I hope that all similar model Hoover carpet shampooers currently on the market come with this water tank. Given the simple design of the tank, I wonder why Hoover didn't do this earlier. One thing you should be aware of - if you had an old-style tank, don't throw it away without removing the handle. This new tank does not come with a handle (must be ordered separately), but takes the same handle as the old-style tank. So, save yourself some money and just transfer the handle from your old tank to your new one.

This container is better then the original that came on my SteamVac. Because it is the new improved one. it has the detergent container all together with clean water tank & has new & better seals. Very happy that my old one was broken by my sister-in-law!

The tank (water and seperate solution reservoirs) that came with the machine were horrible. I broke the solution reservoir within months of owning the machine. I've been trying to keep it on with packing tape for a few years and wish that I had bought the replacement tank years ago.
Also, the caps for the water and cleaning solution reservoirs are better constructed that the original. If your are still fighting with the old tank, I highly recommend this replacement.
