5.0 out of 5 stars Received and used the Hoover F5300 Floormax
This has to be one of the all time great machines!! In a total of 4 hours from assembling everything to putting everything away, I was able to remove 17 years of wax and grime from my vinyl kitchen and utility room floors. The difference in the before and after floor color and shine is amazing. This machine was extremely easy to use. The directions were very clear...

1.0 out of 5 stars Problems right out of the box!
I puchased the Floormax 5300 after reading the rave reviews here. I am having trouble attaching the handle to the base. (Other reviewers) mentioned having difficulty with this also. However, I cannot seem to get it fixed. Per the instructions, I removed the screw and inserted the handle straight down, but it will not push down far enough for the screw holes to line...

The difference in the before and after floor color and shine is amazing. This machine was extremely easy to use. The directions were very clear. It is light weight and very efficient. The removal of the dirty residue with the vacume action was wonderful. I only had to empty the dirty water tank one time for the whole operation and that was extremely easy. Thank you, Hoover, for such a wonderful addition to my cleaning needs. Now I will not hesitate to do my floors again whenever they need it.

After installing ceramic tile throughout my house, I struggled to find the ideal floor cleaner that would get into the grooves and scrub my light colored grout as well. I have ll dogs and was overwhelmed with cleaning up the mud tracked into my house until I found this machine. It is so simple to use. No more back-breaking scrubbing on my knees again. I keep it plugged in and ready to go. It is great for picking up those puppy accidents too.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a fantastic product!, September 15, 2001

I just received the Floormax F5300 as a gift, and I couldn't be happier with it. I am 9 months pregnant and trying to get my house as clean as possible before having the baby. This included stripping the 25-year-old linoleum on my kitchen floor of at least 5 years of floor polish and who knows what else. I tried this once before by hand and got nowhere and, of course, hands-and-knees scrubbing this time was out of the question. The Floormax allowed me to scrub up the old polish, rinse the floor and vacuum it dry in a total of hours -- with one hand. I never knew before what the floor's real color was!! It has also been very handy for shampooing our cream-colored rugs. I only had one small problem with fitting the handle into the body of the scrubber when it first arrived, and I was able to fix that without contacting Hoover. If you have floors, you will love this scrubber.

4.0 out of 5 stars Floor Max F5300, May 24, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Hoover F5300 Floormax (Kitchen)
I just ordered the Floor Max from Amazon at the beginning of the week and now it's Friday. It came in record time (I love Amazon.com!) and I've already cleaned my kitchen and bathroom floors. I like the machine for the most part. I can clean my vinyl and tile floors in record time. It does a great job! My ONLY complaint is that the machine does not fit under the lip of my cupboards and therefore doen't clean right up to the baseboard. I have to do this by hand (approx. 2 1/2 inches). In cupboard-less areas it doesn't clean 3/4 inch of floor right next to the baseboard. I'd still buy this machine though.

Forget getting down on hands and knees--for hard floors, this floor polisher has it all. Not only does it polish, buff, scrub and clean but best of all, it vacuums up the wet solutions. Compared to polishers I've used in the past, this one is a winner. It is the right weight to give a high shine in less time yet it is incredibly easy to maneuver. I wouldn't want to be without it.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Power Scrub it's great, but..., September 26, 2001

... the wet pickup feature can only do a really small area at a time. Because, the tank that hold the dirty water it's pretty small. Making you to stop frecuently to empty the tank, otherwise the dirty water will overflow.

5.0 out of 5 stars Where has this machine been all of my adult life?, April 1, 2002

Purchased several months ago, but just now got around to using it this weekend. Assembled in no time (no problems as mentioned in other amazon.com reviews). Filled tank with cleaning solution/water per instructions and cleaned several floors in the same amount of time it used to take to do one room. Would definitely recommend the purchase of the Floormax F5300 to anyone who has floors that need heavy duty cleaning (or just regular cleaning). This machine is worth every penny I spent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sparkling clean floors, May 25, 2001

I purchased this item for my wood floors. It does a professional job of waxing the floors with a compact cleaner. But, since it also cleans other flooring I tried it there also. My floors have never been so clean. You cannot remove all the dirty water from a floor with a mop. This cleaner vacuums up the dirty water and leaves the floor squeaky clean. I haven't tried the carpet cleaning use yet but if it is anything like the two uses I have tried it will be great. This will definitely pay for itself in a short time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this Floormax, September 27, 2001
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Hoover F5300 Floormax (Kitchen)
I order this and it arrived in less than a week and I used it and my floors never looked so clean. I like the ease of handling and the instructions were easy to follow.
It has been a great help because it takes away the old back bending, mop ringing effort in hand mopping. The very best thing is that it picks up the water after it cleans the floor which is a plus. I hope Hoover doesn't discontinue this item but just improve on it because if this one wear out I want another one. Citystar

5.0 out of 5 stars F5300 Floormax - A guy's Review, December 30, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Hoover F5300 Floormax (Kitchen)
I previously owned a Hoover wet/dry/vac floor scrubber that I received from my mother when she moved into her condo. She used the machine for years (she had purchased it in the '70s). After a few years of extensive use, I had to replace it. I have a lot of tiled and hardwood floors, and this machine cuts my work in half. I didn't have a problem with attaching the handle, as some reviewers have commented. It does a great job - hope it lasts as long as the previous machine. I greatly missed the machine during my search for the replacement.
