It really works, with professional quality results!,

I've wondered if these Hoover carpet cleaners were any good. We had the chance to borrow our friend's cleaner to clean our carpets. I am so impressed with the results that I came here looking to find one for myself.Let me first say that the name "SteamVac" is really misleading. There is no steam whatsoever generated by this product. It does not even heat the water, as it only takes the heated water/soap you put in, and sprays it on the floor. Despite the misleading name, the product is really good. I cleaned several of our rooms with this machine using no soap, just hot water, and the dirt this machine extracted is amazing. Our carpets look as good as when the professionals clean it. The suction is powerful and leaves very little water in the carpet. With the clear plastic housing, you can watch the amount of water you are vacuuming up. There are a few minor drawbacks with the product. The water containers are not very large, and I spent a lot of time going back and forth to the sink to dump the waste and refill the hot water tank. I probably averaged about 4-6 minutes per session. I continuously used the Cleansurge feature that squirts extra water on the carpet, and having to depress two triggers continuously, fatigued my fingers. It would have been nice to have a trigger lock for these triggers, or even better, not to have to exert as much force to engage them. Overall, this is a winner!

I don't know what I would do w/o it!,

I have had my SteamVac Widepath LS for approx. 2 months and have already used it 4 times. I have used it for regular carpet cleaning, cleaning car floor mats, and, more importantly, to remove VERY SCARY messes (if you have a child/dog you know what I mean). So far, I have been very satisfied w/ the results. For the scary messes, I have had success using the following approach: first, I use the SteamVac in the upright position to clean and then, when things are less scary/smelly, I get down on the floor and use the tools. I've done this twice now and both times my carpets have come completely clean - no stain or smell!I have owned both a Bissell Big Green Clean Machine and Little Green Clean Machine - the SteamVac cleans much better and is easier to use and maintain. Also, I was just as happy w/ the results of using the SteamVac as I have been when I've paid to have my carpets professionally cleaned. I have recommended this product to all of my friends.

Great on rugs but check the tool mode for leaks!,

Wonderful machine on rugs. Cleans quickly and picks up most spots - even the greasy ones. Goes through solution pretty fast....I did have a problem with it leaking water out of the bottom of the machine while in Tool mode: handle in upright position, machine turned on, using the upholstery attachment. I'm having it replaced.... The experience leaves me a little concerned about the design and reliability of the valve that automatically switches from rug to tool mode as you move the handle up and down. We shall see. I'll give it 4 stars because it has potential - LOL.

In helping my son clean his new office, I used a 5-brush Hoover machine for the first time. It did such a great job, I just had to have one for my home. I have a Bissell and thought it did a good job until it tried this. I saw Amazon had a good price and I ordered this, the deluxe 6-brush model. It took 7 days to deliver and indeed, the box showed it had been on the road that long. When I opened it, fearing the worst, I was surprised that the machine was in undamaged condition. I immediately tried it on my ceramic tile kitchen floor, shower tile, and of course, the carpet. I WAS AMAZED ! The powered scrub pad and brushes on the hand tool were the nicest things imaginable for a person like me,with a bit of arthritis in the hands. I had cleaned my carpet last month with the Bissell and this Hoover removed dirt my other machine missed. I am very happy with this machine, and I'm like a kid in the candy shop with the neat accessory hand tools !

I was extremely happy with the results. I have white carpet and this Hoover did a great job getting it white again. Had no leaks, and it was a great improvement when they added the rotary brushes and the side brushes. The base boards were the hardest to get clean in the past. I had there best when it came out 13 years ago by Hoover. Great improvement. The only negative thing a can say is, it's heavy to push and pull. Worth the money.

Just to echo the warning of another reviewer, this vaccuum does not make steam. It only takes the hot/soap water you put in and sprays it on the carpet. However, this is an awesome vaccuum. It really does pick up almost all the water it puts down. Your carpet may still be a little wet when you are done, but you can definitely walk on it (although I tend to just wait until it fully dries...which is like in about 1-2 hours). The key is this...after you have finish vacuuming, pour out all the water in both the clean solution and the dirty solution tenks. Then, just go over the carpets again. This will make sure you have picked up as much water as possible and help speed up the drying time. Another key point is that moving the vacuum slowly over the carpet actually decrease the amount of water you pickup. Just vacuum at the speed you would normally if you were using a dry vac. Having said that, my carpet is incredible right now. When I moved into my apt, the carpet has already been there for 8-10 years! The previous owner were slobs and probably never vacuumed the place. After I used the Hoover, I could swear the carpet was new!! Of course, year-old stains will probably not come out completely, but at least it will not be as obvious.

Does the job nicely!,

This machine really does the job. My family room hadn't been done in 5 years it really looks great now. I like the idea of the removable solution canisters....very easy to use. Everything worked like it was supposed to and the machine is not flimsy like some of the others I've seen. Has a long hose and power scrubber for doing stairs which worked great, and leaves the rugs pretty dry. The only negative for me is its weight...it's heavy. As a matter of fact, I developed a blister on my hand from cleaning the family room. But since I don't use it like I would a vacuum cleaner, I can tolerate the weight since it does such a good job. I had no problem cleaning the machine after using it....you just vacuum up fresh water through the hose and brush area, empty the canisters and that's it!

Not for Me!,

I did not purchase this item for myself but for my daughter. I have a 5-brush model and when storm water came into her lower level recreation room, I lent it to her. She was so impressed with it that she asked me see if I could find a similar unit for her. In my search I came upon your website and found the F6024-900 SteamVac Widepath LS. You had it for less than I paid for my unit. My daughter is absolutely thrilled with it. Your service was excellent.

This is a well designed and engineered product! It cleans carpet as good as a professional system and better than store rental equipment. I also used it on some older vinyl flooring and it did wonders for that as well. So, this hot water cleaner works great for me as an all around floor cleaning system. I previously owned a Bissel Big Clean Machine and this works so much better and is better built. No regrets about buying!
