Great Cleaner,
By A Customer
This review is from: Hoover F6030-900 SteamVac Widepath with CleanSurge Carpet Cleaner (Kitchen)
This is an excellent carpet cleaner! I just purchased one to take care of my new carpeting which is cream colored and in a house with 2 kids and two dogs. I had an extra piece of carpet bound and use it as a mat at the front door so people could take off their shoes. Even with all of the precautions it is amazing at how much dirt builds up! When I took the mat up to clean the carpet, the carpet under the mat was a good two shades lighter than the rest of the room. I used the Hoover, and now the whole room matches the color of the carpet that was covered! I did have a noticeable line in the carpet where the mat ended. Two passes with the clean surge button and the dirt was out. I was a little concerned with the amount I spent on the machine, but considering how much carpeting costs and how well this machine made the cream colored carpet look like it was just installed, I think it is well worth the money!! I would suggest this machine to anyone, the only drawback to the machines I used to rent is the water capacity is about a gallon which means more trips to the sink to empty and refill, but because the tanks are easy to remove and put back this is tolerable because it doesn't take too long to do. As far as cleaning it is superb!

You'll be amazed with the ability and ease of this steam vac. This vac is wonderfull. This is my first cleaner of this kind, and I am very happy with my purchase. At first I was a little afraid of spending so much money, but it is an excellent investment. You just fill the resevoir with about 1 gallon of hot tap water, pop it into place, and go. The resevoir of dirty water is also a snap to lift out and empty. This machine scrubs in both forward and reverse while lifting almost all the water back out of the carpet that is used to clean it. The rest of what is left is completely dry in 2 to 4 hours depending on how many times you have to use the "surge button" for the extra dirty areas. An example I have is that I had 4 (1 yr old) rusty water spots in my carpet that I used resolve carpet cleaner on to try and remove (which didn't work). I used my Hoover with the clean surge over these spots and they were gone in one sweep of the machine. Another feature that I like about the Hoover is that it doesn't leave any water spots when sitting idle, starting, or stopping. I highly recommend this, I couldn't believe the amount to dirt was in carpet.

I have used commercial cleaners in the past and found they did a good job but were bulky. I purchased this cleaner because of the great ratings and I am not disappointed. It is lighter than the commercials and cleans every bit as good and in some cases better.I also liked the fact it is made in the USA. Nice job, Hoover, and will definitely consider Hoover products in the future

I have now had this Cleaner for about a year. This thing is a life saver as we have white carpet and two messy kids as well as two cats that love to deposit hair balls on the carpet. The water tank on the unit is not huge but is just the right amount to let you get enough done without your cleaning water getting cold (no water heater). With the hose and different hose end options I have cleaned several cars with fantastic results. It also works fantastic on bare floors. I used it to clean our basement floor before painting it and it cleaned the heck out of the cement floor. It also works great on tile or vinyl flooring. Our dining room carpet is white too (glutens for punishment with a 7 and 9 year old). If the kids spill something on the carpet I just fill the hoover with some hot water and suck it right up. This cleaner has more than paid for itself many times over. I cleaned a carpet for my mother several days after she had it professionaly cleaned and wasn't happy with the results. She couldn't beleive how dirty the waste water was when I cleaned it. And it actually looked clean when I was done. I have not had any problems with durability and it still works as well as it did the day I bought it.

Muddy Paw Prints...take that! ;),
By A Customer
This review is from: Hoover F6030-900 SteamVac Widepath with CleanSurge Carpet Cleaner (Kitchen)
Earlier this year I bought a Hoover bagless upright vacuum and was very pleased with the machine. So, I decided it was time to go a step beyond picking up dog hair and get rid of those muddy paw prints as well. Since I was so happy with Hoover's vacuum and after seeing all the rave reviews on here I decided to buy the F6030-900 SteamVac. I'm certainly not disappointed. This carpet cleaner does a very very good job, is easy to move (as easy as a carpet cleaner can be!), and is really easy to add/change cleaning solution. Also, the hand-held scrubber comes in very handy. When the normal cleaning process wouldn't get that big mud stain off the floor I snapped the brush on the hose and that spot was gone in a matter of seconds. Don't rent a bulky RugDoctor every again. This is well worth the money. Besides, think about how much new carpet cost...YIKES! Happy shampooing :)

SteamVac That Saved My Two Dogs and Three Cats,

I can not say enough good things about this product. With the pets that we have, all long haired variety, we could not keep up with the dirt, hair, stains etc. without our F6020-900. We have had this unit for about two years and it is like a Timex Wrist Watch, it just keeps going and going. We do work it to death. It is used in our home as well as my three children's homes. It is very easy to operate and very durable. Thanks to Hoover, my wife has not shot the dogs or cats.

My hubby and I had been seriously considering new carpet a few months ago due to very worn looking, dull (once light colored) carpet, but don't ring up my sale yet carpet man! I finally gave in to spending money on a carpet cleaner to replace my old Kirby shampooer, and now I wish I'd bought this Hoover Steam Vac a long time ago! It is amazing! My carpet, that I was ready to rip up myself, looks like the day we moved in..brand, spankin' new! I am so impressed with this machine! Very easy to use- easy to fill and dump water tanks- even the attachment hose is easy to clean out when you're finished. It looks heavy, but pulls itself along just fine when running and tilts back on the wheels very lightly to move from room to room. I really enjoy cleaning my carpets now, and as another reviewer stated, it is not much more than vacuuming-very easy and not time consuming. I was so impressed the first time I used it that I took all my floor mats out of my van and shampooed those, too! They were beautifully clean in about 10 minutes! I LOVE THIS STEAM VAC!Great machine! Go buy it now! Mine's going with me to grandma's next trip so I can clean her floors too!

Best carpet cleaner I ever had,
By Ellie (Eden Prairie, MN USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hoover F6030-900 SteamVac Widepath with CleanSurge Carpet Cleaner (Kitchen)
With 2 dogs and 2 cats, it is impossible to keep my carpet/floor clean. I have 2 other (older) carpet cleaners that sit in the basement collecting dust. They are too cumbersome and require too much elbow grease. This machine is almost as easy as vacuuming and no hard labor involved - no more backache. Carpet dry-up in minutes instead of hours. It also does hard floor. The only draw back is that with the hard floor attachment, it leaves more water than I like. I decided to try it without the attachment and (wa-la) no more water :-). The hand tools is great for edges. But, the hose needs to be longer in order to reach top of the stairs. The assembly is very easy and took about 10 minutes if you follow the instruction. It is kind of expensive but I figure it will save me money in the long term since I won't need to hire professional anymore.

I'll try anything if it makes cleaning easier!,

This review is from: Hoover F6030-900 SteamVac Widepath with CleanSurge Carpet Cleaner (Kitchen)
A guy at a home improvement store introduced me to the Hoover Steamvac when I was looking at carpet. I decided to purchase it - mainly for the tile cleaning (I really hate moping!).I tried it for the first time last night. After reading other reviews I knew to expect quite a bit of water on the floors. When I first started - I was not sure if I liked the steam cleaner or not. It soon won me over in a big way! I have a lot of ceramic tile - I usually have to get on my hands and knees to clean and it takes several hours of hard work. I had my tile clean in about 30 minutes! And, it was not a back-breaking effort either! It really did not take long for the tile to dry -and it is beautiful! We are replacing carpet next week and I wanted the machine to help keep the new carpet new. I tried the Steamvac on a section of the old carpet last night and it really cleaned up well! (don't tell my husband - he'd change his mind about replacing the carpet). I am very satisifed with this machine. I highly recommend it to everyone! Why didn't I buy this sooner?!

Necessity for a house of messses,

This review is from: Hoover F6030-900 SteamVac Widepath with CleanSurge Carpet Cleaner (Kitchen)
I use this hoover widepath to clean up my boxer dog's slobber off my cushions, the hand tool works great for that, to clean mattresses when my kids pee on them and to clean the carpets. It always gets out alot of dirt, as evidenced by how brown the waste water gets. They say you should clean your carpets every three months if you have pets and kids. That will get expensive pretty fasst if you use a professional cleaning service. If you have the time to clean your own carpets, get yourself a steamvac and do it yourself. I've found that this item leaves the carpets just as damp as the professional cleaners do and I know what chemicals I'm putting on my carpets and how clean they're getting. I wish the unit had more suction but it does dry the carpets as well as professionals do. Don't get the bissell proheat, its a gimmic that doesn't really work...you fill the clean tank with hot water and its supposed to heat the water up even further but it doesn't. Another point to make: these units don't really make steam, the water only gets as hot as you make it when you fill the clean water tank from your tap. happy cleaning!
