First off, this is not an OEM filter (not manufactured by Hoover). It is manufactured by Crucial Vacuum. But that's not a problem because these are actually much better than the OE part.

These are true HEPA standard filters and fit VERY tightly to eliminate filter bypass. The reviews that say they don't fit are incorrect. They fit, just very snugly. It'll take a few tries to assemble the filter canister.

The vacuum already has a HEPA exhaust filter, but that doesn't protect the mechanical internals from dust buildup (whereas these do,) and it's not zero bypass so fine particles will re-enter the room.

Also, these are WASHABLE with water! (Visit the Crucial Vacuum website for washing instructions.) This doubles the filter life to 6 months and makes these much cheaper than the OE filters.

I'm very pleased with this surprise, I just wish the Amazon review accurately described the brand.

I read all the reviews good and bad, and went for it anyway. I'm glad I did cause it made my old vaccume like new again. The lil vac attachment had stopped working and I took it apart and put it back together again and that didn't help but I put in the new filter and it is a bit harder to get in but that is only the first time after that it's easy pease, but the lil attachment worked!!! will be buying again when I need a new one!

We had used our vacuum so much in the past few months (we recently moved) that the filter began to REALLY stink. I tried cleaning it, but at this price, it was well worth getting rid of. I was a little hesitant as there were some reviews on here that mentioned the part NOT fitting correctly. I had this part shipped to me within just a few business days and it slid right into the collection chamber. No problems with fitting. Satisfied with the purchase price and you can't beat free shipping. Best price on the internet or in any retail store.

I bought this replacement filter so I could change out (and wash) the one that came with the Hoover Elite Rewind Vacuum. As previous reviewers mentioned, the filter gasket needs to be seated/deformed to the mating housing part before it can be easily installed. But that's no big deal. I just wish the filter was cheaper, then I would purchase several.

I really needed to replace the filter in my vacacuum and was so glad to easily find it online! If you have had your vacuum for a while, I would highly recommend replacing the filter. Product shipped and arrived on time.

Like some other reviewers, this filter is tight out of the box. Force it. It will fit and work fine. If you look at the foam bushing on the one end, it will compress and look just like the beveled/impressed bushing on the filter you remove. It works great in my Hoover Upright Rewind. The red one.

My vacuum runs like new! What a difference. I kept cleaning my old filter because I didn't want to buy a new one....but totally worth it. So glad I bought this!

This is the first time I have replaced my filter because I usually just wash it. Well, this filter is exactly the same size as my original. It seems to be made out of the same exact material as well so those who say this cannot be washed is incorrect. I got it yesterday and just put it in minutes ago with zero issues. I'm not sure why others are having trouble putting it in; it fits perfectly! Just make sure you don't put it in upside-down; otherwise, it WILL be very difficult!

Fit perfectly into my Hoover rewind. Don't know why it hasn't worked for others? Maybe they have the wrong model or they are putting it in upside down?
