The brush in the picture representing my purchase is nothing like the ones I received. I received the 'replacement' for the original brush. No notice from Hoover for the change or anyone else for that matter. I am no longer confident in Hoover of which I have 3 vacuumes and one Steam Vac. I have purchased 4 agitator brush rollers . . . all by model number or part number . . . all have been misrepresented by the photo on all 3 web sites! Put the correct picture with the product . . . you don't look so good if you send something different than what you imply you are sending. It's been an expensive, frustrating, and unenjoyable experience but I wish to thank everyone who has 'educated' me on buying on line.

This brush roll doesn't look like original, but works fine. My hoover vacuum cleaner (U6485900) is now like new. Note, I replaced belts as well.

The brush I recieved is not plastic like the picture, but wood painted black. It's much sturdier & better made than the roller I was replacing which is like the picture. My carpet looks great!

So glad I bought this for my 8-year old Hoover. I had read posts on the internet about self-propelled Hoovers no longer propelling and that this was the most likely fix (aside from the belt.) I had already replaced the belt, but nothing changed.
I also saw posts where Hoover repairmen claim the vacuum will need to be repaired in a major way for over $150, just to get the customer to trade in their vacuum for a new one. Glad I did this simple repair/replacement of the roller brush before being suckered! My vacuum works like brand new, now. In fact, I had my family members try it out, and it pulled us all forward so quickly, it almost knocked us off of our feet. Suction is excellent again, too. Sure hope I can remember that this is the problem in another 6+ years when the brush needs replaced again. |
