I thought I would try this to save some money and to see if this line of household cleaning appliances would work for me. I was ready for cosmetic flaws...I mean who really cares if there is a scrape on their floor cleaner? What I was not ready for, was a unit that just looked like it was thrown in the box and had not been refurbished AT ALL. My main complaint is that the brush heads that were supplied looked like they had been cleaning someones driveway. I've used better looking brush heads on my car wheels. The bottom retension bracket for the power cord was also broken off and was loose in the box...nice work Hoover.

"Remanufactered: to refurbish (a used product) by renovating and reassembling its components", that is the definition and I feel that Hoover should have never let one of their reman products ship out without NEW brush heads. The brush head is a critical wear item it and it is ludicrous to sell this floor cleaner with the same brush it was returned with.

All that said, I give it two stars because it does work and I would buy one again...BUT ONLY NEW. Now I have to waste time trying to glue broken pieces and find a replacement brush head.

I purchased one of these from another reseller who only sells one item a day for the same price as here a couple of months ago. Had owned a previous model that died a rather early death but loved how it worked.

This newer model is much better made, easy to use and clean. I have a large area of the house with ceramic tile and 1/2 inch grout. This machine handles it with ease. It not only vacuums the floors but then readily washes them even down into the grout while picking up the dirty water. You'll be amazed with just how much dirt it picks up. The scrubbing brushes and other parts are easy to take apart for clean up and it only takes a moment to do so.

One of the things I like best is the fact that this machine, because of the size of the scrubbing head, will fit right under your cabinet edges to clean that hard to reach area. Many question if they have to use the Hoover floor cleaning product exclusively and through some internet research I've found that Mr Clean works great in this machine. Their new Febreeze scented cleaner does a great job while leaving a not overwhelming scent in the house.

My Scooba has been relegated to small area clean ups.

The first unit I got had a missing brush and squeegee assembly, the bottom cord hook had stress damage but was not cracked. The replacement unit I received was even worse. The detergent tank had cracks on the locking mechanism, the cord hook was cracked halfway and only 1 plastic peg was holding it in place. I already taped the box for return when I read the first review on this item that mentioned worn out brushes. I took a quick look and was very surprised to see that bristles are no longer straight. My old Floormate brush that was 6 years old had better brushes than this one!

These units do not appear to be remanufactured at all. They simply cleaned it and put it back in the box. I'm not reordering another refurb Hoover. The box is too small that the cord hook is touching the box so it is sure to be damaged during shipping. Terrible quality control on Hoover's part.

Hoover should put new brushes in their refurbs. The brushes are a wear item and selling you a refurb with brushes more than halfway worn is not a good deal. The box also does not include the detergents.

A new 3040 Floormate comes with 2 brushes. One grout brush and the standard hardfloor brush. It also comes with 2 bottles of chemicals.

I was so excited to get one of these to make it easier to clean the tile in my house, but I was massively disappointed. It does alright vacuuming, and does a so-so job of scrubbing the floor, but it doesn't properly suck up the liquid after, so it left a lot of dirty water all over my floor. On top of that, when I shut it off, it released more dirty water from its tank and left a giant filty puddle where it sat, even when I tried leaving it on for a few minutes after it was done. After doing 800 sq feet of tile and filing the clean water tank twice, there was less than a half inch of liquid in the dirty tank. The rest was all on my floor still. I don't know if it was becuase it was a refurbished unit, or if it's just poorly designed, but it did not work for us.

On top of all that, when I went to return it, I found that one of the pieces that you snap together when you're assembing it is a one-way operation, meaning that it cannot be removed and so the unit will not fit back in the box. I called Amazon to ask about this, and the lady said that based on the notes, everyone who returned it had to break the handle to get it back in the box. I managed to remove some screws and disassemble it, but I was glad to get rid of it.

Ultimately, I got the Shark ultimate steam pocket mop, which worked wonders on my floors. That thing is amazing, and I highly recommend it over this one. It cleaned the floors better, is lighter, and doesn't require special solution.

Just reccieved the product. Tried it out. It was defective out of the box. Washing solutiuon leaked out of the unit as soon as I installed the full tank. Trigger device that controls the release of fluid does not work. I played with it and couldn't get it to free up. I will keep you posted as I fight the battle to have it replaced or fixed.
I am updating my review two weeks later. I contacted Amazon. The return process was easy. The replacemant product I received works fine. Overall I am satified with how it cleans the floor. I change my rating from 1 to 4 stars.

My daughter put me on to this floor scrubber. We have hardwood floors throughout the downstairs and I am one of those people who really enjoys cleaning them--until recently anyway. With all the little grandkid bare feet around I realized I needed to do a better job and the Hoover floor cleaner/scrubber does it in spades. I cannot say enough about it. What's great is that the dirt and ash from the fireplace is not just being moved about--it is totally picked up. If I want, I can then put down a nice wax without feeling like I am trapping residual dirt in the finish.

I just finished the basement tiled floor and have never seen it look better. Occasionally there are marks that the scrub brushes can't get up so I usually have a "Mister Clean Eraser" around to get those. I cannot see myself going back to my old wetjet method for anything but emergenicies--but then the scrubber is in the utility closet ready to go so it's just as easy to get that out.

A couple drawbacks are that it is loud and obviously you can't get into small spaces. It can get to about a quarter of an inch to the base boards so you may have to touch up there. Also, it would be more convenient if the dial to change from dry vacuum, to scrub, to wet vac were higher on the handle so that you wouldn't have to change your position to change the mode.

All in all, if you have a large space to clean and you really like clean floors, then you will appreciate this machine.

The vinyl that came with our house has a texture that traps the dirt and nothing was getting it out! The Hoover H3040RM worked wonders on it!! Now it looks like new and no scrubbing on my part. After sucking up the scrubbing water with it's vacuum I did use plan water and a sponge mop to rinse the floor so it wouldn't be sticky. This extra step really didn't take up any time. The scrubber really is the only way to get a textured floor clean!! Really a great machine!

I read all of the reviews on this product and some on the CoolnCheap Amazon store. Honestly, I was a little bit skeptical. But I got my re-manufactured Floormate and was pleasantly surprised at what great condition it is in! Not only that, it works like a charm! I have three dogs and have hardwood and tile throughout my house. Keeping up with the dog hair and dirt is hard. I used my new Floormate on two levels of my house today (four separate floors) and it worked beautifully! My knees and back feel great! A big change from getting on your hands and knees and scrubbing. And a lot cleaner then using a mop! I have already recommended the cleaner and the store to my friends!

My cleaner arrived quickly and worked just fine. You could tell it had been used before but it was not at all filthy as some other reviewers had been. I did not receive a grout brush block with mine. I didn't complain about that because I didn't see it listed in the description and the price was really low anyways, fifty five or so if I remember correctly. A bottle of grout cleaner was listed in the product description and wasn't received so I mentioned that to Amazon and received an additional couple of dollars off too. The machine has been used many times now over a 4 month or so period and I've not had an issue with it. Works just fine for me. I do wish I didn't have to keep emptying/refilling as much since both compartments are not very big. I have alot tile and hardwood floors so it takes at least 2-3x to refill it per use. I guess the logic in that is making them bigger would make the machine heavier and cleaning would be much more of a workout! I've taken my chances with a few refurbished items before and not had a problem to date and this is true with this Sprinscrub as well.

Purchased this refurb from Amazon. Good price, free shipping and a nice clean product that worked as advertised. It did not come with the grout brush or any cleaner. But the price was right. It takes a little more time to scrub my tile floors than doing it with a sponge mop, but it does as good of a job plus it's more fun. I would buy a refurb again.
