Powerful, lightweight, and compact, this handy little 840-watt plastic canister vacuum goes upstairs, downstairs, all around the house, and into the garage for vacuuming out the car, too. The 15-by-9-by-6-1/4-inch canister weighs about 8 pounds, and you can carry it easily by its handle. It will follow you dutifully on easy-rolling wheels as it's pulled around by a 6-foot hose and two wands that extend 37-1/2 inches to a nozzle that retracts its carpet and rug brush with a flick of a lever to clean bare floors. For dusting tabletops, lampshades, draperies, and walls, you just connect the wands to a multipurpose brush with the twist of a latch ring. A crevice tool also connects for cleaning along baseboards and other tight places. The vacuum uses disposable filter bags and comes with a one-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack
