The vacuum has a very small dirt cup, which makes it fine for small clean ups. The hand held vaccum is a little heavy, but works fine. Works great on hard wood floors. Holds a charge long enough to do 2 - 3 rooms.

I bought this not looking to replace my vacuum (I have a pretty good one). I bought this set because I have two kids, two cats and a dog who can all make a bunch of messes in a short amount of time. I like not having to break out my vacuum for little spots here and there (spilled spoonful of hedgehog food...) but can't stand to be walking in the stuff.

I now have a morning routine - I vacuum my carpets with my regular vacuum. I then vacuum my hard floors with the Hoover sweeper vac. It does a good job, as long as I'm not in a rush (move it too fast and it doesn't get a chance to pick it all up as the suction is just not strong enough). The storage space (and suction) is fairly limited, so it's not going to pick up big pieces of stuff...but for everyday pet hair and dirt (and hedgehog food ;-) it does the job. Then, during the day as my 2-year-old makes little messes, I can use the handvac to pick those up very easily.

I have used the sweeper on a wet mess, and while it didn't get the floor perfectly dry or anything (not that I think it's supposed to), it did an adequate job getting the majority so I could just go over it with a damp cloth (apple juice gets pretty sticky).

All-in-all, I am very satisfied with the purchase. While there are a few things that I would change (slightly better suction, longer charge on the sweeper), it was a good deal for the price I paid (Gold Box deal) and I would certainly recommend them for basic cleaning usage.

Like the title states, the hand-vac works nicely, but the sweeper doesn't work as well on the carpet as it does the floors. On the carpet, it takes a few passes before most everything is picked up. There are always a few little bits that need to be picked up by hand. Overall, it's easier than lugging out the vacuum, but it may not save any time due to the amount of passes to clean on area. A definite plus is the fact that it's cordless. Cordless is always nice.

Really like the slider. I had one for downstairs and wanted one for upstairs. Wish I could order just the slider for gifts, but Hoover no longer makes them. The handheld vacuum is not as powerful as I would like it to be.

I HAVE TWO OF THESE LITTLE VACS. ONE FOR THE KITCHEN AND HARDWOOD FLOORS AND ONE FOR THE BATHROOMS. THEY ARE NOT MADE TO USE ON RUGS BUT I USE THEM ON THROW RUGS. YOU HAVE TO EMPTY AFTER EACH USE WHICH IS NO BIG DEAL. MAKE SURE YOU TURN IT OFF BEFORE YOU PUT IN CHARGER. KEEP IT IN THE CHARGER WHEN NOT IN USE. I HAVE HAD ONE FOR ALMOST 3 YRS AND THE OTHER IS 4 YRS WITH NO PROBLEMS.

Very nice little vacuum - runs about 15 minutes on a charge. Wish Hoover made a "corded" variety! Especially good at picking up pet hair and small bird seed. Handy and great for the in between house cleanings. It doesn't run very long if you try to go over low-pile carpet, but it's excellent on hard floors. If they still sell this as a Combo with their HandVac, that's the best deal. Typical HandVac; good for about 10 minutes on a charge; very handy for picking up fluffy bird feathers and small crumbs.

This particular lightweight Hoover slider broom works wonder for me, espcially on the stairs. Cordless and powerful. The combo comes with a handheld vacuum cleaner too, I leave it upstairs in the studio with the TV, so, when I make a mess enjoying my peanunts or pumpkin seeds while watching DVDs, I don't have to go too far to clean up. Not to mention that the price is great for such combo pack.
