Right for the Job (and a little more),
By A Customer
This review is from: Hoover S2211100 Brush Vac Cordless Vacuum (Kitchen)
I purchased this vacuum to pick up the small stuff (e.g., cat hair, dirt from outside) in between thorough vacuuming sessions. I picked this one based on Consumer Reports' testing and ratings. It does a good job of picking up the debris it was intended to pick up. And since I have hard wood floors, I appreciate the carpet and floor options -- it even picks up cat hair equally well on both. And it's so handy - I don't have to lug around the huge vacuum to pick up a small mess upstairs, I don't have to stoop to use the handvac, and it has a brush so it picks up hair much better than a handvac. It sounds like one of the reviewers purchased this expecting it to be a full-fledged vacuum cleaner. It isn't, but I'm really surprised at how close it comes - especially for the price and the convenience. I even think it'd be an appropriate choice as the only vac for a small apartment with hardwood floors (I don't know if it'd be right for an apartment with wall-to-wall carpeting).

Hoover's a hit!,
This review is from: Hoover S2211100 Brush Vac Cordless Vacuum (Kitchen)
I love this little vacuum! When it arrived, I was concerned it wouldn't live up to my expectations as it's VERY light and sounds a bit pathetic when turned on. BUT, I was pleasantly surprised when I found that it does a great job on carpets and hardwood floors. Being light, it's really easy to carry around, and I found myself vacuuming the stairs for the first time in...er...quite a while, with complete ease. I love the fact that it's cordless as I hate having to constantly plug in and unplug the other vacuum cleaner. Emptying is a bit of a pain as it's bagless so you have to be careful not to send dust flying everywhere. However, all in all, it's a great tool.

Weak,

I was so disappointed when it arrived. We have a black and decker hand vac that is so much more powerful than this one. It picks up better than this Hoover! I am in the process of sending it back. I will probably purchase a Dirt Devil. We had one for 6 years before it broke. It worked great! I wanted to try the Hoover because it's cordless, but I'd much rather deal with a cord than not be able to pick things up. The vacuum is also built too close to the ground. If you run over things like beads or popcorn, it will just push them out of the way. You have to lift the vacuum over it to pick them up.
