5.0 out of 5 stars my nice little Hoover
For its size, weight, and price, this is a mighty fine cleaning device. I live with 2 indoor cats, so it not only has to deal with lots of fur, but those pesky little grains of sand that seem to travel far from the litter pan...and it does a good job with both.
Also excellent for my Persian carpets, as it's not recommended to use a vacuum with a beater bar on them...

2.0 out of 5 stars Not bad but.......
This was easy to assemble, isn't that noisy and is easy to manuver. It works great on hardfloors but is terrible on carpeting. I have 2 dogs (1 is a collie with real long fur). It just pushed the fur around on carpets if it did anything at all. Then I had to use hose to suck up the small clumps on carpet. We bought this as a quick supplement to the "real" vacuum we...

5.0 out of 5 stars my nice little Hoover, August 12, 2001
This review is from: Hoover S2535 Quik-Broom (Kitchen)
For its size, weight, and price, this is a mighty fine cleaning device. I live with 2 indoor cats, so it not only has to deal with lots of fur, but those pesky little grains of sand that seem to travel far from the litter pan...and it does a good job with both.
Also excellent for my Persian carpets, as it's not recommended to use a vacuum with a beater bar on them.

The plus factors are: It hangs in my broom closet taking up very little space, it's incredibly light, the cord is long enough to reach many areas, it works equally well on carpeting or the kitchen/bathroom flooring, the nozzle is thin and mobile enough to clean corners and tight spaces, and most of all (and this is a big item for me and my four-pawed friends), the sound is tolerable for our sensitive ears.

Yes, you have to invert the filter and clean it, but it's a sturdy one (and washes well if you want to), and if done carefully with a paper towel is an easy enough procedure...it also amazes me how much finds its way into the filter, proof that this handy Quick-Broom is doing its job.

Update 3/3/05: Still going strong ! But those with a fleet of pets should keep in mind that this is not a full-powered vacuum. It will not handle, or was it meant to handle, major jobs. If one keeps this in mind, it's a remarkable little machine.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works well on hard floors, May 19, 2001
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Hoover S2535 Quik-Broom (Kitchen)
I bought this vacuum to help cleanup our kitchen floor, which is always dirty from the dog (and us) tracking dirt in. It does a pretty good job, quickly sucking up loose dirt, dog hair, etc. My only complaint is that it has a hard time picking up small rocks (2-3mm).

Works better than sweeping since I can shove it back in corners and it sucks everything up, rather than trying to get that stuff out with a broom which never seems to work very well.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is Quik-Broom NOT Quik-Vac., May 29, 2003

This is not made to take the place of a Vacuum. It is a quick way to sweep a kitchen or a bathroom.

this is a lite weight convenient way of cleaning up little messes. We keep it handy in our kitchen closet and between the dog and kids it does a good job.

4.0 out of 5 stars two dog couple loves this vacuum!, August 21, 2001
This review is from: Hoover S2535 Quik-Broom (Kitchen)
This vacuum was purchased for exclusive use in our camper/trailer, as it is partially carpeted and a dustpan and broom just didn't do it. We have two labs who shed quite a bit, and my biggest concern was finding a unit that would effectively suck up the dog hair. This one fits the bill, and I would highly recommend it for anyone with a camper, small apartment, etc. I intend to bring it back to the house eventually, and use it on a daily basis for the dog hair detail. I truly never expected to find this efficiency in an electric broom. I just wish it had an upholstery brush attachment for the fabric window cornices and the built-in furniture.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent cleaning for a modest investment, August 6, 2001

The quick broom sweeps very efficiently both bare floors and carpets. On carpets you would occasionally use a revolving brush type vacuum, but for routine/daily cleaning, accumulated bits of thread/dust/paper are removed quite satisfactorily by the quick brook. The dust collection cup is easy to empty and requires no filter bag. I am very pleased with this cleaner.

Reccommended by my mom, this vaccum is wonderful for small apartments, especially if you don't have much storage space. It does a fabulous job on hardwood floors, rugs, and in hard to reach nooks and crannies. It's pretty easy to clean out the dust bag too.

It just pushed the fur around on carpets if it did anything at all. Then I had to use hose to suck up the small clumps on carpet. We bought this as a quick supplement to the "real" vacuum we already have. Its is being returned to the store as we speak. Its unfortunate because its a great little vac on floors...its just the carpet that it really does next to nothing on. If all you have is hardfloors then this would be a great value for the money. If you have carpets then you want to keep looking...its just not going to do the job. :(

This quick-broom replaces the original one which had a dust cup which you could shake out. That was better. This new version has a dust bag which catches the dust. You have to clean it out. The only thing is that it is made of cloth and catches and traps the dust. You have to manually invert it to get out the dust and clean it with a brush. NO GOOD! In doing this, you shake the dust out into the air and get your hands all filthy. I'm very disappointed. Why don't they keep things the way they were?

1.0 out of 5 stars Hoover Lacks Quality Product and Cust. Svc., February 6, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Hoover S2535 Quik-Broom (Kitchen)
As a current Hoover owner, I am advising prospects against Hoover products because of poor quality (mostly brittle plastic) and poor customer service support. This is not an isolated experience as other reviews here at Amazon will confirm. Bissell Customer Service, as an example, is excellent!
