Big on cleanliness, but short on storage? The 12-amp Hoover Fold Away solves the problem by outfitting a full-size upright with a collapsible handle. Folded up, the vacuum stands just 24-1/2 inches high, so it is easy to store in cupboards and closets with shelving. It's suitable for bare floors as well as carpets and comes with automatic tool conversion for cleaning above the floor. The Fold Away has three adjustable nozzle heights, a 13-inch cleaning path, and a revolving brush roll with an edge-cleaning design. Dirt collection is conveniently bagless, and the handle-style cup release makes for simple emptying. The cup's tap-clean pleated dust filter captures 100 percent of dust particles and 99.98 percent of ragweed and pollen.
The Fold Away's compact structure does come with some adaptations--the power switch, cord hooks, and attachments are all closer to the ground than on other models. Once you get used to it, though, conversion to attachment cleaning is quick and simple, and the set of tools is thorough--an extension wand, a crevice tool, a dusting brush, and an upholstery cleaner. I had one of these vacuums for a very short time. I have 3 dogs and 2 cats, along with various other small critters (ferrets, rats, hedgehogs) and 2 horses. So my house tends to get pretty dusty and pet hair is all over the place. This vacuum might work better for someone who is a little easier on their carpet than I am. Mine constantly clogged with pet hair and human hair (up until 7 months ago I had very long hair), and it would lose suction easily. I found myself having to clean out the roller ALL the time, and it became more work to clean out the vacuum all the time than it was to vacuum the house! I invested in a Dyson vacuum, and I haven't looked back since. While the price is much higher, the Dyson is MUCH better for pet owners! This hoover would be decent maybe for a petless person living in an apartment, or someone with no kids. Anyone who has to use their vacuum a LOT will probably not be happy, but if you're looking for a fairly inexpensive bagless vacuum, this is a decent choice.

Doesn't suck after only a few uses,

Purchased the vacuum in June and used it a total of 5 times. Then it stopped sucking anything up. Am currently in the process of trying to get it repaired but there are very few repair places around.If I had known what this vacuum was like I would not have purchased it. Buy a nicer vacuum; I am regretting not paying a little bit more for a much better quality vacuum. I used to be a big Hoover fan but I will never buy another Hoover vacuum again.

When it arrived, I took it out of the box, pulled up the handle, plugged it in, and it loves to vacuum. It is not a noisy machine. What I appreciate about it, is the fact it is bagless. It has the filter, and just a nice machine. The only little draw back is, the placement of the hose into the body. There is a cap that swings in, than you place the hose into its cavity. If that is the only draw back, that is very very minor. The price is right, and just perfect.
