Thank the lord the heavy kirby is gone,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Hoover U5760-900 Windtunnel Bagless Upright Vacuum with Power Hand Tool (Kitchen)
our heavy kirby vacuum of almost 35 years finally ran itself to the curbside today.we decided we wanted something bagless and consumer reports magazine rates the hoover windtunnel bagless americas # 1 vacuum sweeper. so we looked for it at the stores and found it at $157.94 at wal-mart. setup is very easy just attach the handle and youre off. it sure sucks up everything especially dog hair. its a bit messy to empty but i just use my shop vac to clean the filter. overall this is just a fine vacuum for our family.

Sucks for the first week, then never sucks right again,
This review is from: Hoover U5760-900 Windtunnel Bagless Upright Vacuum with Power Hand Tool (Kitchen)
This valcuum is great for the first week. Then you have to clean it after every room. Not only the bagless part, but the filter has to be taken outside and beaten. These filters are $25 and only last 1 week, but Hoover says they last for a year. I called Hoover and they said it was time to change the filter, after 1 week. my brand new carpets can't be that dirty. I am sooo sorry I bought this vacuum.

The vacuum didn't work from the moment we received it. Hoover's customer service is terrible. While they have said they will repair the vacuum, they won't replace it and they will only pay one way for shipping -- that's after multiple phone calls and long wait times on hold. There are also recalls for other Hoover bagless vacuums. Don't waste your money!!!!

I really hate this vacuum. I've had mine for 3 years and it's been broken for half that time. The motor melts the belts and the damn thing gets clogged after only cleaning one room in our 4 bedroom house.I hate this and I'm throwing mine away to buy a better one.

- I purchased a Hoover Windtunnel from SamsClub approx. 1 year ago and have loved this vacuum since day1. I'm not sure what everyone else's problem is with belts? I haven't replaced one single belt.- Yes, ANY bag-less vacuums do require dumping the canister every couple rooms or so(at least I prefer to with 2 dogs and a cat in the house) but name one bag-less vacuum that has a bigger reservoir than this? They are roughly all the same size and I have definitely seen smaller.... - The clean/dirty sensor works AWESOME. I have only had minor issues with it(if the canister is full the light doesn't show dirty). I was extremely skeptical about a "clean" sensor on my vacuum but it honestly does work, and well at that. This truly does tell me if my rugs "look dirty" or if they really do have dirt left over. - The attachments work "OK" as far as normal attachments go(I used the roller for my car seats and still found myself just scrubbing with an open ended hose for dog-hair). - Noise is acceptable. - Self propelled works very smoothly and I have had no issues with it; however, I would REALLY like it if Hoover added some more reinforcement to the handle(feels like cheap plastic). It feels like I am going to break the handle when I lift and move the vacuum from room to room(stiffer if you disable self-propel while moving). - I can't ask for better suction and corner cleaning. If the front of the vacuum can touch the wall then 99% of the time it will clean the entire front not missing the corners. All in all this is by far the best vacuum I have ever used but it by no means exceeds all my expectations for what a vacuum cleaner of 2009 should actually accomplish.
