Ignore all those with a gripe about what it will and won't fit. It only fits bag models. Ignore those with quality issues. It's the same construction as the original hose, or at least not detectable to me. It's the same hose that will compress with the suction of the vacuum, so you still have to be careful not to pull to hard and tip over the vacuum. This really helps to get up high without having to place the vaccuum on a chair. I purchased this for $13 bucks, must have been a great sale on Amazon at the time... maybe they will change it back for you.

The 20' hose is a must-have with the wind-tunnel vacuum because the hose that comes with the vacuum is wee tiny and pretty worthless. But I'm not sure you're ever going to see 20' of real usable hose with this thing because it's got so much zing and recoil. I'd be afraid it'd snap like a rubber band if I ever really put it to the stretch test.

As it is, every time I pull more than 10' out of this hose, the windtunnel upright falls over and makes such a loud KERPLOP that it scares me out of my wits. Doesn't matter which direction the windtunnel is facing, one yank on the hose and the vacuum falls over like a drunken sailor (but makes much more noise).

In short, I've had this hose for about nine years and it's sturdy and strong and useful but it doesn't provide a true 20' of usable length. The good news is, when it gets clogged with debris, a few good shakes and whatever's caught inside will tumble right out.

False advertising. It is only 15'-16' *fully* stretched and is only a "20' reach with wands and crevice tool" according to the tiny print on the bottom box. This is not an extension but fits as a replacement, so you are only getting 9'-10' more reach than the original 6' hose. That is still helpful, altho the quality of the tubing is 1/2 that of the original hose and will not sustain pulling or pinching with the same durability.

I am so glad I saw this item on Amazon.com. Over the years, I had been forced to use both my upright and a canister vacuum...the canister was used to clean around the baseboards. Now that I have the extended hose, I can vacuum my entire home with my upright...which has much better cleaning power than my old canister vac. Although the actual intent is to totally replace the original hose on the vac with the extended hose, I kept the regular hose in place...snipped off the clips of the extension hose so I can now insert it into the original hose. This way, I really have a great extension hose. The price is right too, so don't hesitate to get one. I bought extras for my kids too as they have dogs, and having an extended hose makes vacuuming the furniture a breeze. Just to let you know...this extension hose is NOT intended for the bagless Hoover Upright, only the bagged cleaners. I don't know why, but it stated this on the package. Just be aware.

The information on the pages that pertain to this hose needs to be changed to reflect the fact that the hose DOES NOT fit Hoovers with a HEPA system. It only fits Hoovers with product #'s beginning U53.., U54.., U64.. I ordered it along with a new Windtunnel that has a Hepa system, since the product information stated that these 2 items were bought together by other people. Unfortunately, it does not state that these people (now including me) have to return the hose because it does not fit all Windtunnels. So be sure to check and doublecheck before you buy. ...

The extension hose makes it much easier to reach things. I took the advice from one of the other reviews and filed off the tabs on one of the hoses so that I could attach it to the hose that came with the vacuum, therefore giving me an additional few feet of length. Works great! Well worth the $.

Upon opening the box I found that the information given in the buying information for this product did not reflect the actural product. For one thing it only fits unright WindTunnel models that use bags. This hose is for models beginning with U53, U54 and U64 only.

The hose functions perfectly and as designed. The one bummer is that the hose is too long and hangs out on all sides. It may fit the newer WindTunnels better, but on our U5420-900 the hose needs to be wrapped around the vacuum. I know its a longer hose, so maybe this is just the way it works.

This is a product that sounds much better than it really functions. First of all, it isn't 20 feet long. It doesn't stretch easily, pulls over the vacuum cleaner whenever it's stretched very far, and it only extends usefully about 8-10 feet. On the box it comes in it states that with all extensions and tubes added, then it reaches 20 feet. This product is simply falsely marketed as something that it is not. It should be marked as a 10 foot extension hose. For the price, it is grossly overpriced. It's worth about $10. I don't think two of them connected together would stretch out easily to 20 feet. And, you had better have someone around to hold up the vacuum cleaner while using it. It's easier to move the vacuum cleaner than use this.

I ordered this item from amazon.com and it arrived a couple of days ago. Here is what i have found:

This is NOT an extension to the original hose that comes with the WindTunnel vacuum cleaner. It does NOT connect TO the original just like a wand. I can use either this or the original hose, but not both at one time.

That means i am not adding 20 feet to what i have, but 20 feet MINUS the length of the original hose.

The stretch hose has to be pulled to stretch. If i am not careful while pulling the stretch hose, i pull down the vacuum cleaner itself. I already did it a couple of times.

If i try to keep this extra long hose attached while i am vacuuming the floor or carpet using the SWEEPER, not the hose tools, this hose is dangling and gets in the way. Otherwise, i have to frequently detach the original hose and attach this one when i switch between using the sweeper and this hose. Detaching and attaching the hose is not nearly as convenient as using a wand. And the end with the projection which i have to slide in and twist to lock the hose is dusty.

Why cannot they make it a regular stretchLESS 20-feet hose with one end just like that of a wand?
