awesome,
This review is from: Hoover WindTunnel T-Series Upright Vacuum, Bagged, UH30300 (Kitchen)
After going through 2 dysons, a bissel, and a Hoover platinum bagless in the last 8 years, I decided my problem was not all my cats, dogs and messy children- but the "bagless" vac instead. I did this get version at Sears since I could test drive it there. I have never had a vac with so much suction!!! I test drove the kenmores, dysons and new LG- but there was no comparison. You don't need an self propulsion on this model b/c once you turn it on, the suction is so great it moves itself across the floor. I know it's not super fancy like the others- but it's nice to have the brush on/off as a foot pedal on the base you can press easily and it's easy to just drop the bag out when it's full. Great job Hoover!

Great Vacuum,
This review is from: Hoover WindTunnel T-Series Upright Vacuum, Bagged, UH30300 (Kitchen)
I was in the market for a new vacuum cleaner after my pathetic, yet very expensive, Dyson decided to call it quits. After extensive research and talking to family and friends about what they recommended I finally chose the Hoover Windtunnel T Series bagged vacuum (model UH30300). I am extremely glad I did. Nothing I've ever had in the past even comes close to this machine's suction power. Like other reviewers have stated this thing literally drives itself across the floor. I also like that it came with a full assortment of attachments, doesn't require any removal of screws to clean the brush/change the belt, was very easy to assemble, and even though it's lightweight it has a heaviness of great build quality to it. It doesn't have any fancy cord rewind or self propelling bells and whistles on it but that's just more stuff to go wrong/break in my opinion. If your looking for a great vacuum that will give you many years of great service (if maintained correctly) I definitely recommend this great product by Hoover.

Hoover windtunnel UH 30300,

This review is from: Hoover WindTunnel T-Series Upright Vacuum, Bagged, UH30300 (Kitchen)
I just bought this vacuum today for my small home which has low pile carpet/bare floors, but I think it would work well on high pile also. It has great suction. I choose it because of the windtunnel technology and the reasonable price. Also I wanted something lightweight with a bag. I hate emptying the bagless dirt cups- dust gets right back into the air.
It is easy to assemble- just attach handle and brush clip. I really like the rotating brush in the upholstery tool. It rotates really fast, powered just from the suction. At first it didn't rotate because I didn't have the bag door closed properly. This model has a no-touching-the-bag release feature which isn't that important to me and I hope it works with replacement bags. The bag that comes with the vacuum is a HEPA cloth-like bag with a rubber-type material around the opening. If the paper replacement bags (Type Y) don't seal properly, I will just remove the release gizmo and push the bag onto the tube myself. So if you don't have suction, open the door, make sure the bag is in place and close door firmly. I'm happy with the cleaning on the carpet. Only missing feature is it doesn't have an edge cleaner brush, but the suction is so good it seems to clean the edges without one. It's easy to switch to bare floors but I did have to turn the vacuum off, step on the petal to turn the brush roller off, then turn the vacuum on again. The on-off switch is on the handle, and the foot petals are easy to push-you don't have to stomp on them. Four and 1/2 stars.

OK - don't expect it to last long - buying a Miele next time,
By Mom of 4 (Southern US) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hoover WindTunnel T-Series Upright Vacuum, Bagged, UH30300 (Kitchen)
I've had this vacuum about 6 weeks - I bought it from a natl department store chain so I could return it if necessary (not noticing they charge a hefty restocking fee). I hated my Eureka and researched vacuums until my head spun and could not find the one that truly was what I wanted and was well reviewed (I discovered one in an amazon review AFTER I purchased this and followed up with Consumer Reports - I will be spending the $450 or so for a Miele Twist next time!). I fully expected to buy a dyson, but with so many negative reviews and customer service complaints, I was hesitant to risk that many $$. I test drove a friends and disliked a couple features as well. This one seemed as well reviewed and much cheaper. My first impression was "Wow - that looks cheap" - the plastic parts just don't look durable. Here are the pros and cons after 6 weeks:
Pros - -Suction seems good. Less good on non-carpet, but not bad. -like the push button brush-roller turn off feature. -I do like the way you release the hose and it instantly has suction. The hose wand attachment and crevice tool are the only ones that store well and stay on well. Cons -very loud -cheap plastic parts -attachments - do not stay on, fall off every time you use the vacuum. I finally started keeping them in a bin in the closet. In this case, I think you get what you pay for - it does not appear the same is true of Dysons from what I read, or I would have one of those now. Definitely looking into the Miele next time - hope it's not toooo soon!

I've only used this once, so this review is subject to change, but I doubt that it will.
Go here: [...] There is a button labeled 'video instruction guide'. Click that to see a video on how to assemble this unit upon arrival and how to use it, save for showing you how to use the attachments. I find this vacuum well designed. The hose is flexible, and wraps around an upper support before plugging in to the cleaning head. The hose clicks into place, and need not be forced into place as with other vacuums. The hose is easily removed by clicking a button. There is no danger of the hose falling out of the unit, and spewing dust all over your home or apartment, a danger that exists on many inexpensive vacuums. There is a height adjustment that has five levels of height. This is accomplished by pressing down on the adjustment knob then turning it to the height you want. Then upon release of the button, it snaps into place. The rotating beater can be turned on or off, so that you can clean linoleum or hardwood floors. This is accomplished by a foot pedal. The pedal is protected from breaking by the housing. It cannot be depressed too far, causing the switch to break. This is a superb feature. The on/off switch is on the handle. This makes turning it on or off very comfortable. Unlike less expensive vacuums where the on off switch is a foot pedal, it cannot be depressed too far which causes it to break. The unit is all plastic, but it is well designed and constructed. It is built solid, and I expect it to last a long time, unlike the last bagless wonder that I was dissatisfied with from day one. Because it is plastic, static electricity accumulates and large particles will be attracted to it. These are easily removed by unlocking the hose with a click of a button, and vacuuming the head of the unit when you are finished using it. The handle rotates a full 90 degrees, making it easy to get under things. However, the head is too large to fit under a modern metal bed frame, but you can easily get under coffee tables and lamp tables. The head also features a bumper guard that is made of rubber, so there is little danger of scratching a leg of a table, wall baseboards, or furniture that goes all the way to the ground. This unit is made of plastic, but it is a little heavier than expected. This is because the motor for vacuuming and running the beater is heavier than average, meaning that it is powerful. The beater is belt driven by the motor and is not driven by wind like some less expensive (and cheaper) vacuums. And although the unit is heavy, it pushes along easily enough, and if you need to lift the unit, there is a strong and sturdy lifting handle placed on the handle at a comfortable height. The unit cleans very well! Extremely well! The suction the motor produces is strong enough to hold a hand attachement onto the hose though air flows around the attachment. I have a dog, and this vacuum picks up dog hairs off a deep pile carpet very easily. It also picks up larger particles where the carpet meets linoleum or hardwood, but things it misses are easily picked up by clicking the switch that unlocks the hose, then using the hose (no hand attachment required). The cord is 30 feet long! This allows me to clean my 850 sq feet apartment by plugging it in once! However, the cord is not not spring-retractable and must be wrapped after use around very ample (and sturdy) cord retaining supports. I can live with this, and so can you at this price point. There is a 'bag is full' light on the case that houses the bag. It is well placed on the top of the housing, and easy to see. See the video on the link I posted above. It shows you how bags are removed. One touch does it, and you never have to touch a full bag. The hand attachments fit easily onto the handle. They include a crevice tool, a soft bristle upholstery tool/dusting brush, and a wind-driven beater brush tool that is useful for small spaces on your floor or in your car. It works great on dog hairs. All of these fit on the handle and the head. The pictures show the wind-driven hand tool on the handle, but it is better placed on the head where the soft bristle brush tool is supposed to go. Put the wind-driven tool on the head and the soft bristle on the handle. It is less likely to fall off because of the wind-driven beater is heavier. The hose is spring loaded to be stretchable. I strongly doubt that this hose will tolerate abuse. If you want to clean the tops of curtains, place the vacuum on a stool to avoid over stretching the hose. All in all, I'm very pleased with this vacuum cleaner. It is well constructed and well designed. There is little chance that the hose will accidentally become unattached. There are safety features built into this that prevent you from accidentally breaking a switch. The cord is very long. The motor is powerful enough to pick up large particles from hard floors where they meet carpet, and the beater is motor driven, not air driven, so you'll always have adequate force to rotate the beater. Also, Hoover bags can be found nearly everywhere. This is solidly built, but a little heavy. This is good! Heavy means you have a very powerful motor. At this price point, this vacuum ranks number one for its features, power, and versatility. If you're hunting and comparing inexpensive vacuums at this price point and even lower price points, stop here and buy this vacuum. You get what you pay for, and an $80 vacuum is not going to do as good a job as this unit, nor will it last very long. Oh! And if you're considering buying a bagless, DON'T DO IT! Cleaning the filters is a filthy mess. Emptying the canister is also a filthy mess. JUST DON'T BUY A BAGLESS! The time you spend cleaning the filter and your clothes is not worth saving the money you'll spend on bags! You need to be dirt poor to avoid spending money on bags, and if you don't spend money on bags, you'll be dirt poor once again. p.s. This unit ships with Free Super Saving shipping. It was estimated that I would get this unit within 7-10 days. I got it in three days.

Really do like this vacuum! Had bagless for years and got sick of the dirty filter cleaning. Thought it was the newer, more advanced way to go, but now feel bags are simpler, cleaner and better.
Love the brush roller shut-off (won't buy another vac without it), suction (but sometimes too much), high-up exhaust that doesn't blow floor dirt around, long cord, headlight, bagfill indicator, on/off switch on handle, turbo brush tool, light-weight, rubber-like wheels, and PRICE. What could make it perfect? Adjustable suction flow slider control on wand, higher cord outlet (too easy to step on), and longer more flexible hose. Hmmm.. but then I'm not perfect either and my wife still keeps me around... as we will this vacuum!

Hoover vacuums are super!,
This review is from: Hoover WindTunnel T-Series Upright Vacuum, Bagged, UH30300 (Kitchen)
This is one awesome, inexpensive vacuum cleaner! It moves easily, so it doesn't require strong muscles like some more expensive brands. It has great suction and picks up dirt and fluffs up carpets so well. It has a nice handle that allows one to pick it up and move it around - up stairs or to another room - very easily. My husband and I loved it so much we bought another one for our second home (soon to only have one, we hope, and then let our son have this vacuum).
Hoover was a vacuum cleaner my mother always had - she bought us our first! Now you know what they say: "mothers always know best." I'd have to agree that my mom steered us in the right direction.

I'm 32 weeks pregnant and I've been having a hard time pushing around our vacuum cleaner- it's so heavy and hard to push. I didn't like that it was bag less at all- seemed like it was only doing half the job and I hated that you/guests could see all the dirt in the canister! And the suction just plain old sucked-even after buying a new filter.
I was SOO excited to get the hoover!! It was so easy to assemble, and such a light vacuum! It does propel itself because of the brush being so fast and the suction being strong! And the brush attachment is even stronger! I've never been so pleased and satisfied by a vacuum in my life. Once I turned it on and started using it for the first time I went crazy and took it around the whole house! Best early Christmas present evverrr! 5 stars for the hubby!!

Maybe I'm in the honeymoon phase as I just received my vacuum today and tried it out by vacuuming my entire house, but I love it. It does propel itself by itself as another reviewer mentioned. I used to have a Dirt Devil w/swival action, so maybe I'm comparing it to a lesser brand/model, but still, I love it.
I like the on/off button being on the handle for ease of use. My other one had it further down on the body of the machine. I haven't used it enough to try the easy removal of the bag. I may stay with the expensive Hepa bag meant for it since others say they feel there is less suction, so why degrade the suction you're looking for if a less expensive bag does that. I'll see! The ones that go with it are pretty darned expensive!!! I love that indicator to say if the bag is full!!! You forget to check the bag or get tired of checking it on other vacuums. I think this vacuum is a bit more quiet than my Dirt Devil. I have a parrot who drops those tiny fluffy feathers, and it did pick them up without blowing them around. I haven't used the machine on a hard surface yet to see if it also continues to not blow things around. Maybe I should have waited to do my review, but I love what I see already. The price was right, $129 when I bought it, also the free shipping. I only found this vacuum in Sears sold by a 2nd party, so shipping would be involved making it more costly. It could not be shipped to the store. I saw it in online in a store, but they wanted a huge price for it. This vacuum may be on it's way out as these industries like to put newer models. I'm glad I got this one before it left the shelves permanently. I didn't go bagless because of bad reviews on how messy it is. You can find the bagless for less, but it is getting very bad reviews, besides the messiness of no bags, people are rating the machine as breaking often and I don't see that with this bagged model. I'm glad to say, I won't mind vacuuming as much anymore. About buying a cheaper model/brand, people say they'll simply replace it & it won't hurt monetarily to buy again, but the cheaper one doesn't work as well, and if mine stands the test of time and outlives a cheaper model/brand, it will be worth it to have the quality and not rebuy a vacuum after 5 years.

Great vacuum!,

I recently purchased this vacuum after months of reviewing the different makes and models available and reading many reviews. I decided on this model since I didn't want anything fancy, just wanted something reliable with good suction, and reasonably priced. I currently have a Dyson and hate it - I paid a lot of money for it and it does a horrible job of getting lint out of plush carpet. The first time I used the Hoover UH30300 I LOVED IT!!! Suction is fantastic, love the light feature so you can see in darker corners - my carpet actually looks cleaner after using this vacuum. I have had two vacuums that have the cannister instead of the bags, and I really don't like them - dust flies everywhere when they are being emptied. The only reason I didn't give the Hoover Windtunnel UH30300 five stars is because the hose is a little short if you want to use the attachment to clean stairs; may consider getting an extension for the hose.
