After a promising, but generally immature record in Comes From the Heart, Stick To Your Guns not only meets, but exceeds all of their potential. The album starts off with "Where The Sun Never Sleeps", which is really an ode to Orange County. It has an extremely catchy cleanly sung chorus, but still has the hardcore feel that we all know and love from Stick To Your Guns. STYG then unleashes a much more traditional hardcore onslaught in "What Goes Around". It's a decent track, but compared to the rest of the album is somewhat lacking. "Faith In The Untamed", is the next track and is absolutely superb. It shows how technical the band can be and their immense skill. The next song is "Amber", which once again shows off the bands melodic side with a cleanly sung chorus and an excellent guitar riff. The next two songs "Wolves At The Door" and "Some Kind of Hope" are very similar songs, and great for the same reasons. There are no clean vocals here, but the band remains melodic through soaring guitars and emotional and inspiring lyrics. The next track "Scarecrow" is a good song with a catchy chorus, but somewhat lacks the substance and melody of their previous tracks. It transitions to "Erida", which is essentially just a filler song. Next is the brutal "Life Through Western Eyes" which rallys against the western culture and its judgemental attitude. The song is focused on two excellent guitar riffs, one a high pitched melody and the other a crushing breakdown. While they might seem to clash, Jesse's vocals help weave the two together seamlessely to create a great song. However, the best is still to come, and come it does with "3/60", an extremely powerful song, that starts off as straight up hardcore but transitions into an emotional and melodic bridge/outro.Read more ›

Perhaps one of the best Hardcore albums to date. STYG does an incredible job of taking such topics and spewing their thoughts out on a single cd, would definitely recommend it to anybody who is a fan of Hardcore.

if you like STYG's then I can't imagine you not enjoying this album. There really isn't much more that needs to be said...the album slams from start to finish...Comes from the Heart took me awhile to get into...but The Hope Division grabbed me from the start and didn't let up...get your ears on it.
