Must read for Military wives,
By Chris (North Carolina) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hope for the Home Front: Winning the Emotional and Spiritual Battles of a Military Wife (Paperback)
Marshele gives such insight and hope with this book. She has been there and it shows. I had so many "yep, that's exactly right" moments while reading. There are so few books for military wives written from a Christian perspective that it is refreshing. Our life group for military spouses at our church is reading it now. I would highly recommend it and the Bible study also. You won't be disappointed!

My son recently joined the Army so I purchased this book for his wife. It is well written with practical applications for military families. I think any military family, whether newly enlisted or experienced, would benefit by reading this book.

I never take the time to write a review, but this book is well worth it. I am moved to tears every time I open this book. It is a constant reminder of God's unfailing love, and also a reminder to loosen our grip on earthly things. Fantastically written, and a great read for any military wife, or family member of any kind for that matter. I just bought one for my mother-in-law, a mother to three military sons. Thank you for this book!

This book was just what I needed to read while my husband was deployed. It was so encouraging to read a book about being a military wife and the spiritual battles we face while our husbands are at home or deployed. I laughed and cried as I read stories that sounded exactly like my life at times! I am also doing the bible study that goes with the book and it is amazing. I will be reading this book again and again.

I have been involved in the military as a child, wife and mom. I bought this for my future daughter-in-law, but as I was reading it (before I gave it to her), I realized that the points in here are relevant (and funny) to military families, but also to anyone who wants to take a tough look at their lives. Excellent read, and highly recommended.

Wow when I got done reading this book, whom was donated to me from a chrisitian radio station, I was like Thank you God for giving me this book. Excellent insight from the author. Very easy to read. It was so nice to know that other christian military wives have been through what I have. I wish I had read this before my husband went on deployment but its never too late to get help. This would be a great gift to someone you know that is a military wife!

I ordered this book when my husband first decided to join the Air Force, and it was definitely a comfort to hear from another Christian woman who was living the same lifestyle that I was about to embark on with my own family. It's definitely a good read, especially for new military wives.

Meh,

I guess I got married without a ton of insecurities and selfishness. I knew my husband would be gone alot and I don't suffer from my plans first, not yours. I guess it all depends on your attitude towards life. Over all the book is alright, especially if your surprised by your spouses service demands and didn't really prepare yourself to be married to the military as well. If you're like me and you knew what you were getting into this book is kinda funny to see how someone else feels so inconvenienced and thinks the whole world revolves around them. The best advice I could give anyone is that you can't choose when they leave, you can only decide how you're going to handle it. Get up and live your life. You're service member doesn't want your life to stop when they're not around. And bonus advice, there are stupid people everywhere who make stupid rules, the military just has a special brand of stupid.
