4.0 out of 5 stars Further Apparently Wasn't Forever, March 21, 2006
This review is from: Hope This Finds You Well (Audio CD)
Further Seems Forever's swan song is in fact a "best of" collection, which actually sounds more like a mixtape considering that FSF went through 3 different singers throughout their brief history. This CD contains some of the best songs from The Moon Is Down (2001), How To Start A Fire (2003), and Hide Nothing (2004), as well as a few great b-sides and covers. Two songs that should be on this CD but aren't are "On Legendary" and "Just Until Sundown," however for the most part this is a great grouping of the highlights from an innovative band that is no more.

Without Journey, there could have been no Further Seems Forever - and that is everything that was both great and wrong about them.

Goodbye dudes. You will be missed.

4.0 out of 5 stars A great introduction....., April 20, 2006

For beginners this is a great release. People can argue which songs "should" be on here, but in my opinion it's a great release for what it is. I bought it just for the rarities. I highly recommend picking up each of their three albums. They are all different but great in their own way.

5.0 out of 5 stars Farewell sweet princes..., April 2, 2006
This review is from: Hope This Finds You Well (Audio CD)
A spectacular band. One of the finest examples of third-wave emo. It's hard to get a hold of the rarities, so if you cna't grab them by any other means, get them through this cd; "Vengeance Factor" is truly one of FSF's unsung greats. I personally would have loved to have seen "Monechetti" and "Madison Prep" on this album, but you can't have everything; otherwise, I find the slection of songs to be very good. With a group like this, it's hard to exclude many songs. It is a shame to lose them. Get this for the b-sides, or if you're just getting into FSF. I'd suggest buying all three of their albums, or ripping them from somewhere; this is a great comp, but there's still great stuff not on it.

P.S. "There, Now I've Said It" is an alternative version of "Bleed" from the "Hide Nothing" album. Whether it was a b-side from the previous album, or something recorded right before Jason Gleason left, I don't know. Gleason himself has a new, very different band, named Action Reaction, with former Element 101 members. Check them out.

4.0 out of 5 stars Why does everybody hate up on Hide Nothing?, March 24, 2006
This review is from: Hope This Finds You Well (Audio CD)
I thought Hide Nothing was a superb album. It was definitely up there with The Moon is Down and is better than How To Start A Fire. I think this is a good compilation for an awesome band!!!

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Hope This Finds You Well (Audio CD)
I Had heard Further Seems Forever for years before I bought this, and I always thought that they would have amazing CD's if I could ever track one down. Needless to say, this CD didn't disappoint. Each of their 3 lead singers had their own distinctive style, and I didn't notice any particularly weak points.

Alright, All you need to know; if you are thinking about buying this album: 1. Aside from the revolving door that is the vocalist in FSF, Some of the best song writing of our time.
2. If you are a guitar player then just listen deep...there are soooooooo many layers.
3. If you are a drummer then cum'on...if you can play ANY of these songs 'fill for fill' you are truly a GOD!
4. Yes, Carabba is damn good( pre- Dashboard!!! whinney bastard)
5. Jason gave them a new sound.(VOX)
6. Jon, well he will stand the test of time.(VOX)

In summary, if you truly understand music, you need to hear this .......If you don't dig the style...Just once, but listen deep.

Peace

4.0 out of 5 stars Why wasn't "Just Until Sundown" and "On Legendary" on this disc?, March 23, 2006
By
This review is from: Hope This Finds You Well (Audio CD)
It's bad enough they didn't include anything that hasn't already been released, but they leave off two of the best FSF songs. "Just Until Sundown" is essential for the newest to oldest FSF fan. They could have easily got rid of a couple (or all) of the Hide Nothing tracks to make room for those plus additional rarities.
