Dealing with Cancer,
This review is from: Hope When It Hurts (Paperback)
I read this book out of curiosity. Having a lot of respect for Larry Burkett in his field of money matters I was curious to see what he had to say about dealing with cancer. I was very impressed with the broad coverage he had of dealing with his illness. He deals with the emotional, physical, & spiritual aspects of someone living with cancer. I was pleasantly surprised to see that he also handled the area of alternative medicine, the FDA, and nutrition. I would highly recommend this book to anyone dealing with cancer as well as anyone who has a family member with cancer. Also read the book entitled, The China Study (2006) for excellent information in regards to cancer. Larry Burkett wrote another book entitled, Nothing to Fear, that I believe is an update from this book.

Damaged But Not Broken,

This review is from: Damaged But Not Broken; A Personal Testimony of How to Deal with the Impact of Cancer (Hardcover)
After having been diagnosed with cancer, a friend gave me this book to read. It was the only book I read concerning cancer, but it was such an encouragement to me. It hit the nail on the head regarding spiritual matters, family and friends reactions...my reaction. It confirmed my feelings along the way and was such a support. Needing to do another round of radiation, my countanance was falling. My friend recommended I re-read 'my book' for moral support. She was right as once again, I was lifted up. Anyone looking for spiritual truth from the God's Word will not be sorry they read this book!

This review is from: Hope When It Hurts (Paperback)
This book was engaging and easy to read. I read it because someone told me about the chapter on treating HIV and other difficult-to-cure illnesses. It sounded really promising, however the Feds, or "someone" didn't want inexpensive cures for many illnesses and according to the book the line of research was stopped.
Yes, I would recommend the book. |
