3.0 out of 5 stars interesting
An interesting CD. it shows the difference between musical tastes.I was curious as to the remixes and wasn't impressed. There are some songs that you shouldn't screw around with. "American Pie", "If You Could Read My Mind" and "I Hope You Dance" are 3 perfect examples of songs that were better left alone. While the pop radio version is...

5.0 out of 5 stars 'I Hope You Dance'.... I hope you buy this cd!!!, July 9, 2003

This cd single is very impressive!!

I love the 7 minute Rawlings Club Mix!!! It is by far the most beautifully written song and the lyrics are like Shakespeare wrote it himself (Hint: The lyrics should be considered timeless!)

Although the entire disc is about 20 minutes but the remixes are excellent. I would recommend buying this if you like collecting maxi-singles!!

5.0 out of 5 stars An inspirational song for everyone, March 27, 2005

I don't like your average soppy song, but I will make an exception in this case.

I hope you dance is quite inspirational in its lyrics and beautifully sung by the often under appreciated Lee Ann Womack.

I heard it for the first time whilst I was in San Diego and I loved the video of Lee Ann and her two daughters and the tune is quite haunting, I can understand why so many people love this song.

As for the different versions of the song on this CD, what on earth are people griping about, we're a world of right moaning Minnies aren't we?

One man's meat is another man's poison my Great-Granny used to say to me, and all of these versions of Lee Ann's song in my opinion reach out to many different people who like different styles of music whilst at the same time the lyrics are the same, just the music is different.

Get it, the lyrics are the same, the music is just slightly different, you have four choices guys, take a pick and listen to that one, okay?

A great CD that is hard to get in the UK, I had to buy it from the US, shows you that some folks in the UK aren't as appreciative of good music as I am!

"American Pie", "If You Could Read My Mind" and "I Hope You Dance" are 3 perfect examples of songs that were better left alone. While the pop radio version is fine, I could have done without the European remix versions. They are your typical trashy dance songs with one exception: they made the mistake of picking a good songs to remix. Unless you like the European dance style of music, save your money, or beter yet, buy the orignal cd if you don't have it. If you do, buy Kelly Willis, Mandy Barnett, Sara Evans...

1.0 out of 5 stars no description of the single, November 29, 2004
This review is from: I Hope You Dance (Audio CD)
All I wanted was the origonal single version of "I Hope You Dance"
What I received was 4 different versions of the same single....two of which are disco. This was going to be a gift and I was not interested in all the different versions. I just wanted the original.
