Well, winter will be coming upon us, and rather than clean my car off with a magazine/modified cardboard box top, I thought a real snow/ice scraper would be handy. I wasn't looking for anything fancy, just enough to get the job done decently. For under $4 and free S/H with a minimum Amazon order, I think this is a good deal.

The picture pretty much is it. The construction is pretty sturdy. The entire length is about 1'10" and brush is just under 7". The width of the ice scraper is about 4". The handle is solid thick plastic with a hole at the top for easy hanging, though mine is going in the back of the car.

I did manage to crack the ice scraper at the very tip when testing out the "flexibility" of the scaper, but I do not think this should inhibit its functioning.

People who are very short/have short arms are probably not going to be able to clean off the top of the car or the middle of an SUV windshield very easily with this though.

I bought this while living in central New York and its accompanying blizzards. The brush was decent enough for sweeping snow off of my (compact) car, but the scraper end was mediocre at removing ice and eventually lost a corner, rendering it useless.

You'd be much better off just buying a separate large brush and something like the Hopkins 13014 Ice Chisel 10" Scraper instead.

I just bought the product for our 2nd car and to make total $ 25 for free shipping. But when we received it, I was really surprised. this was much better in strength than to my similar previous snowbrush. Price was really competative for one available at Walmart. The handle has very stronge grip. I would vote 5/5 for this product at this price.

I have one of these and have used them for years.

PROS:
* Lightweight, no-frills handle
* Bristles along the handle make for slim, easy-to-stow design
* Stiff bristles are pretty durable & don't tend to clump up with ice
* Can brush a couple inches of snow off a car with little effort
* Long handle can give good leverage for scraping

CONS:
* Having the scraper at the end, beyond the bristles, makes it hard to brush along certain areas sometimes (like between the hood and windshield on older cars)
* Length is only suitable for short vehicles you can reach over already if you're trying to sweep the roof
* The scraper is fluted plastic that can shatter if dropped on hard surfaces when cold and is just of generally poor design.

For me personally it does okay but always in tandem with other tools. I like the no-frills design as opposed to some of those heavier telescoping designs that just end up being cumbersome and tiring to use. If we get more than a few inches of snow I usually end up using a house broom to get most of the snow off my car anyway so this works fine for brushing the snow off my car after work or a run to the grocery store. However, I have always hated the design of the scraper on Hopkins-brand scraper tools. They rarely scrape evenly, usually in thin, parallel lines that you have to scrape over and over unless you've warmed up your car considerably, which in Alaska below 0°F is an immense waste of fuel. So I generally use this tool to brush off snow and then use a CJ Industries F101 Fantastic Ice Scraper with Brass Blade to scrape the ice off my windows no matter the temperature of my car.

I have owned this snow-brush for several years. My main usage is the ice scraper part of it. For light over-night frost buildup, this tool is sufficient. But this is definitely the wrong tool for light and thin ice (not even heavy ice) buildup on the windshield. First, the front edge of the ice scraper has hard time to grap onto the light thin ice. Secondly, the plastic ice scraper can not sustain heavy scarping work. My ice scraper got broken while trying to remove some light thin ice.

For think ice on the windshield, don't even think about using this tool.

You pay with what you get. Now I am looking for more heavy duty ice scraper.

I liked the price on this scraper so I gave it a try. It worked great the first few times I needed it but now the blade has cupped or something because it only scrapes a line about an inch or so wide. To my naked eye it looks fine, but when called to action it just doesn't perform like it did out of the box. I recommend it if you're not up against a long season of heavy ice and will use only occasionally. For me I think my next move will be a brass bladed scraper.

I was very dissapointed when I finally used this brush for our first snow this week. The brush sits too far back to clean the part of your side windows next to the side view mirrors without the scrapper getting in the way and constantly banging your side mirror. The bursh is too small to be effective for anything more than a dusting. The scraper is angled so that only about 1/2 of it actually hits the windows at any given time. For me, it was waste of time and money. I would not recommend this product.

This scraper works well. It was smaller than I had expected though. I wish it had a longer handle or an extendable one, but if you're looking for one that's small and compact, this one will work.
