5.0 out of 5 stars Hey, under $4
Well, winter will be coming upon us, and rather than clean my car off with a magazine/modified cardboard box top, I thought a real snow/ice scraper would be handy. I wasn't looking for anything fancy, just enough to get the job done decently. For under $4 and free S/H with a minimum Amazon order, I think this is a good deal.

The picture pretty much is it...

2.0 out of 5 stars Okay brush, lousy scraper
I bought this while living in central New York and its accompanying blizzards. The brush was decent enough for sweeping snow off of my (compact) car, but the scraper end was mediocre at removing ice and eventually lost a corner, rendering it useless.

You'd be much better off just buying a separate large brush and something like the Hopkins 13014 Ice Chisel...

The picture pretty much is it. The construction is pretty sturdy. The entire length is about 1'10" and brush is just under 7". The width of the ice scraper is about 4". The handle is solid thick plastic with a hole at the top for easy hanging, though mine is going in the back of the car.

I did manage to crack the ice scraper at the very tip when testing out the "flexibility" of the scaper, but I do not think this should inhibit its functioning.

People who are very short/have short arms are probably not going to be able to clean off the top of the car or the middle of an SUV windshield very easily with this though.

I just bought the product for our 2nd car and to make total $ 25 for free shipping. But when we received it, I was really surprised. this was much better in strength than to my similar previous snowbrush. Price was really competative for one available at Walmart. The handle has very stronge grip. I would vote 5/5 for this product at this price.

This scraper works well. It was smaller than I had expected though. I wish it had a longer handle or an extendable one, but if you're looking for one that's small and compact, this one will work.

I don't get snow so I can only review how I use it. I get ice on the car windows sometimes and when I do I need to scrape it. This does the job well without me having to strain to reach everything.

2.0 out of 5 stars Thin frost is OK. But useless on ice., January 8, 2009

I have owned this snow-brush for several years. My main usage is the ice scraper part of it. For light over-night frost buildup, this tool is sufficient. But this is definitely the wrong tool for light and thin ice (not even heavy ice) buildup on the windshield. First, the front edge of the ice scraper has hard time to grap onto the light thin ice. Secondly, the plastic ice scraper can not sustain heavy scarping work. My ice scraper got broken while trying to remove some light thin ice.

For think ice on the windshield, don't even think about using this tool.

You pay with what you get. Now I am looking for more heavy duty ice scraper.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the price of shipping (even for free), December 7, 2007

I was very dissapointed when I finally used this brush for our first snow this week. The brush sits too far back to clean the part of your side windows next to the side view mirrors without the scrapper getting in the way and constantly banging your side mirror. The bursh is too small to be effective for anything more than a dusting. The scraper is angled so that only about 1/2 of it actually hits the windows at any given time. For me, it was waste of time and money. I would not recommend this product.

This is two dollar at wa l ma r t. It's a good size, not too big like the others, but not just a small ice scraper neither.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Snowbrush/Ice Scraper, December 4, 2011

This review is from: Hopkins 19520 Super Deluxe 22" Snowbrush - Colors may vary (Automotive)
My brush happened to be a blue/grey. We haven't had snow since I received it, but with ice it did wonders compared to my ice scraper last year. This one takes off nice 4" lines of ice, where as last year's scraper would only get about a 1" section at a time. This blade seems to mold to my windshield better - MUCH better. Excellent tool for the money. It seems strong too, I gave it a few good pulls to attempt to remove the black scraper from the handle and it didn't come off (which is good). I also tried to bend the handle to see if it might buckle when I'm slamming some of our 1/2" freezing rain; it looks to be solid.

The bristles seem stiff, but the tips are flexible. It looks as if this was the design to push the iced snow but not take your paint with it.

Over all, it is a solid brush/scraper. It is even better for the money. These cost double or triple at our local big box store. I knocked off one star because it is just a bit too long to fit under the average car seat (light duty truck or sedan).
