This review is from: Hopkins 30101VA nVISION Tire Pressure Monitoring System Sensor - Pack of 2 (Automotive)
I have had many blowouts on trailer tires when I'm towing, and I believed they all started with the tire air pressure being too low without me realizing it. Even when I have checked the tires before a trip, things happened during the trip and, not realizing it I continue driving and end up ruining at least a tire, sometime an entire wheel, hub and axle, other trailer parts, or the tire next to the one that blew out. When I saw this system it seemed like a very good idea for me. I got the transmitters from Amazon where I found them for less than the retail price.
When I first installed them, I wasn't getting good reception. I called the company and they sent me a free antenna extender and the reception was fine. One day after I got the system working, while parked at home overnight, my warning signal was going off on one of the tires. I figured I must have not sealed it well when I installed it, so I aired up the tire and used the trailer. Then next morning the warning was going off again on the same tire. I removed the tire and sure enough I had run over something and the tire had a slow leak. After just one use the system has already saved me one tire problem. I think the system is great even at the retail price, and if you can find the same system for less, that's even better.

Returned along with entire system because sensors have to be replaced when batteries run down. Non-replaceable batteries = added expense.

I used this system for 1 week on a first trip and for two weeks on a second trip, both of which gave me nothing but headaches every morning. Each day I would run a test before leaving and each day 1,2,or even three tires would be in the warning or caution category. Driving a Class A rig and towing a Jeep I would have to try and find a tire shop or truck stop to fill tires to over 95#. This was not easy often causing us to go way out of our way and very time consuming. The coin operated air pumps at most gas stations cannot pump over 70-75 lbs. Eventually after calling a tire repair shop to come to the campground ($65) and totally testing two of the tires they found absolutely no leaks in the tires. It was actually the monitoring sensors (made in China) that were leaking. I took all the sensors off and went to manual testing each morning and over the next 6 weeks only had to add air to one tire. The monitor screen is extremely difficult to read; tiny letters and diagrams, do not touch the screen or it will leave a permanent fingerprint, cannot read in bright light, and extremely difficult to program or re-program. I'm buying a different system.
