5.0 out of 5 stars An Easter Story That Will Bring a Message of Hope to a Child, April 15, 2009
This review is from: Hopper's Easter Surprise (Paperback)
This is a 1993 edition of a simple story of faith, hope, and courage, as portrayed in the adventure of Hopper the rabbit who desires to be an Easter Bunny. Hopper has heard stories of "the Easter Bunny", and aspires to be one. His Mother, encourages him to be an Arctic Hare, whose fur changes in color from season to season, just that.

Like any young child who aspires to some great accomplishment in life, this little bunny, too, wants to be just like another bunny. He is encouraged by his Mama, and one day, he meets another bunny, or hare, as it were. He finds a friend in this other bunny, a delightful surprise in itself, and low and behold, someone has left him a beautiful present while he was off in the countryside with his new friend. Every child has dreams, and much like Hopper, every child has to grow into her own self-assuredness that she is just who she is meant to be "at this moment", until the next moment. It may come off as an Easter story, but it has a childlike joy for "being just who you are" for any reader. Happy Easter, Somebunny!

2.0 out of 5 stars Christian Book Review of Hopper's Easter Surprise, August 31, 2009
By
BOOKHEN2 "m." (Minnesota just west of the Mississippi River) - See all my reviews
Easter in its original definition had to do with spring. In that case, the title and content of this book is correct.

The word Easter by today's definition is the name given to the Christian holiday celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. It is the most important moment in time for all Christians, as Christ through his free gift gave us the promise of a life without sin, death, pain, suffering and sorrow.

A story about rabbits and eggs is not about Easter. It is a story about easter -- lower case.
