Hoppe's Cleaning Kit for Rifle, Shotgun with Aluminum Rod, Box E/F

To me, this item seems like a complete kit to clean my shotgun. Doesn't it to you? Well it's not, because it doesn't come with any brushes. Yet nowhere on this page does it say this. Classic case of false advertising. Unless you have your own brushes laying around at home (and I'm guessing you don't if you're here looking at this item) skip this and move on to another item.

I bought this cleaning kit as a Christmas Gift for my husband. I should have known better. There are no brushes included, which may have been an oversight on my part, however, one of the bottles for cleaning is missing. I didn't open the package since I was trying to keep it as a surprise. And to top this off, I can't return the item through Amazon because the products inside are labeled hazardous. There is also no option to contact the seller. So if you are the seller and read this, I would very much like a refund for this product, or send the cleaning solutions. I feel very much ripped off even if it was 14.00, because I didn't get what I paid for.

I wanted a cleaning kit for my 12 gauge shotgun this kit said rifle or shotgun. The term you get what you pay for applies. Cheap and has no brush or instrument capable of cleaning the sides of the large bore.

I already had a Hoppe's cleaning kit for pistols, and one for shotguns. After purchasing a rifle, I needed the rods and ends for that too. Rather than just buy the rods, I thought I'd buy a whole kit with a box (instead of plastic blister wrap like my other kits), and keep everything in one box.
Unfortunately, the plastic box this comes in is the CHEAPEST plastic box I have ever seen. Very thin plastic, and so flexible that you can't keep the catches closed, so parts keep coming out of the box; and when you hold one end of the box, the other sags like a wet towel.
To add insult to injury, BOTH bottles of liquid (cleaner and oil) leaked during shipment. When I opened the plastic box, it had liquid sloshing all around in the bottom.
I have been satisfied with Hoppe's products in the past, but next time will be purchasing another brand, with hopefully better results. It's a shame the beancounters in the packaging department ruined this product; I actually have no complaints about the contents of the kit; they do their job.

A friend of mine bought this exact kit from a local dealer a while ago and I liked it, so bought it for my long guns. It contains exactly what the picture shows, nothing more or less. Additional information was available on the Hoppe website for a while, but this appears to be an older product. Like anything in life, buyer beware and do your research before buying.
It's a good, low priced, simple kit for light duty cleaning. I'd buy another. You will probably need/want to buy some brushes as well as they are not included with this particular kit.

This turned out to be the perfect gift for my brother who is starting his own collection of hunting needs.

A pretty basic kit that has everything you need for cleaning a rifle which is why I purchased it. Since the description states that one brush is included for a pistol (more than likely an error), I made sure to have a few at hand and have nothing to complain about. Pretty good considering the price alone.

Can't go wrong for the price. Had everything I need to clean my 30-06. Shipped fast.

I own a few of these and they are greart. Do the job and are inexpensive. Highly recommended.

From the .177 through the 12 gage, it keeps them all clean and ready to go. There are not a lot of bells and whistles in this kit but it does have all of the components that are needed to keep most any fire arm inspection ready. It doesn't work very well on the 3 pound cannon though.
