Kids will love Hoppo the happy hippo
Kids will love Hoppo the happy hippo
What's he doing behind a fire hydrant?
What's he doing behind a fire hydrant?

Children love to play hide 'n' seek, and who better to play it with than a friendly hippo? Hoppo the Hippo, to be precise. He's not hard to find, but young kids will love hearing him say "Peek-a-boo!" when they discover his hiding place in this simple and fun game for Android.

Do the Hippo Hop 'n' Hide

Hoppo is a lovable cartoon hippopotamus with googly eyes and two large front teeth. To get him to hide, simply shake the handset. Poof, he's gone!

To find him, you must slide your fingers around the screen, looking behind doors, inside bushes and trees, and under the water--hippos are semi-aquatic, as you may recall. When discovered, Hoppo pops out as if to say, "Wow, you found me!"

City Hippo, Country Hippo

The game has three environments in which Hoppo can hide: in the jungle, down on the farm, or at a city firehouse. Animal sounds mix with vehicle roars and other appropriate background noises in each scene. Children will love switching from one scene to the other, chasing their friend Hoppo around in this perfect game for your little one.

4.0 out of 5 stars My 2 year old loves this game! February 28, 2012

This game is basically a hide and seek style game where the hippo hides behind different things. You move the objects to find the hippo. Once the hippo is found he does a peekaboo and becomes big, you shake your phone and he goes back into hiding. There are 3 scenes, wish it had more. This game would probable best suit a 1 to 3 year old child. My 2 year old can play this game all by himself and loves it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Cute... but needs work May 28, 2012

This is a cute app, but we found that it was too difficult for the youngest kid to navigate, and too boring for the older kids. The transitions require a shake, and a toddler can't shake the Kindle well enough to make it "go" - so it takes an adult sitting there and shaking the device every thirty seconds or so... or frustration and tears ensue. If the transition was a tap, it would have gotten a slightly better rating from me. For any kid above toddlerhood, it's too repetitive. Not enough variety on the hiding places. I can't really recommend this app as anything but a two to three minute diversion. It's OK but doesn't get asked for at our house.
