5.0 out of 5 stars I Wish, August 21, 2011
This review is from: Horizon Drive (Vinyl)
I wish 32 JAZZ was still around. Is there anyone out there that will ever remaster any of those Muse albums that never quite made it to cd? I wish Joel Zorn was still around. I wish someone would rerelease Vic Juris' first two albums (Roadsong and Horizon Drive) on cd as a 'twofer'.
Vic is a monster jazz guitarist, and was from the start of his recording career. He has to be among the most underrated, and under-appreciated of guitarists. Vic has it all, melodic flow, harmonic savvy, great touch/attack/articulation/phrasing, rhythmically hip. Fans that love Martino, Benson, Coryell, Metheny, Wes, etc., and don't know Vic's playing (I believe there are many) are in for a pleasant surprise when they hear Vic for the first time. Like the best jazz players, Vic has continued to grow. He is truly one of the greats.
