this is a great buy for the price. i am not a fitness enthusiast but wanted to try and loose the extra weight i put on throughout the years. the speed and incline is very good and easy to adjust. it is very quiet. i can watch tv or listen to the radio with it on. i also live in an apartment so it is not disturbing to the neighbors. i do not run so i cannot atest to that, but i enjoy it for walking.
it does however beep loudly when it is turned on. that does get annoying but it quickly shuts off. the box was difficult to open because the label was small saying not to cut the straps from the box a certain way. it is my own fault for not reading it though! it was very easy to put together-very little set up. it is much larger than i anticipated. if you are looking to start a workout program to loose weight and on a budget, this is a great treadmill.

I bought this machine from Amazon for a special holiday price after researching other comparable treadmills at other sites and stores. I got a bargain then. Now, the price has gone up by almost $400 (I got it for $500 + $100 shipping). For what I'm after (5 sessions a week of walking at 4 mph for at least 45 minutes per session) this machine is perfect. It's got a good-sized walking surface at 20 x 55 inches, a 10-year warranty on the 2.0 hp motor, a lifetime warranty on the frame, and an easy-to-read panel for speeding up, raising the incline, or getting info such as calories burned, pulse rate, or distance. My only complaints are that it beeps too loudly when you hit the control panel, and the pulse readings are erratic at best. Also, the instructions for putting it together are not in the best English (it was made in Taiwan) and it was packed idiotically in the box. I had to be careful in figuring out how to put it together, but it was pretty easy. It would have been very easy if I had had another person to help. The reading rack also doesn't hold a book at all, but it will hold an iPod or CD player and I listen to music while exercising anyway, so I'm ok with the lousy reading rack. All in all, this is a reliable, attractive piece of equipment, well worth the price. It stores well, is easy to tip up to a vertical position, and is easy to use. I'm happy with it.

Two months and still not working properly,

We purchased the t52 from Amazon on line after much research. The unit was delivered promptly, and setup was not very difficult. We ran it through its paces to make sure everything was working and upon trying the incline it immediately went up to to and never came back down.
We called horizon fitness and registered the warranty on the phone as the on-line registration had not gone through. The person on the phone ran through some simple diagnostics with me over the phone and agreed to ship a new incline motor. It arrived within two days. We were also given a number for a repair service. The number was no longer in service. After two more calls we finally got a repair service who came out three weeks later (Christmas Holidays were involved) to examine the unit. The repairman detemrined that the incline motor was burned out, but that it was because of the motherboard. He ordered two new parts from Horizon. We expected them within a couple days, but they were not delivered for three weeks. When the repairman came to install the new parts only one hard been delivered, and we are now waiting on the other one. We have been able to use the treadmill though not fully functional. It is quiet and efficient, though the heart rate monitor is nowhere near accruate. The response from Horizon has been horrendous. If you get a unit with no problems I would recommend it, but if it has any problem at all be prepared for a long haul with little to no resolution.

Better than expected,

This treadmill was better (and heavier!) than I expected. Couldn't believe they offered free shipping...took 2 delivery guys to get it inside. It's as good (maybe better) than the treadmills at the gym. Had a little difficulty in assembly (one of the pin holders was a little bent...nothing a hammer couldn't solve), but if a woman can put it together herself, I'm all for it! Easy to program your time, speed, incline...haven't yet figured out how to add time once you're already on there. 2 cupholders, place for your tv remote and a couple of sweat rags! Couldn't ask for anything more!

The T52 is very easy to use. Readouts are large and controls are at your fingertips. The treadmill is very quiet. The deck is smooth and comfortable for walking and running. Great machine!

House-Hold-Items #1: A new review-style.,
By Howard Tuttleman... howardtuttleman@howardtut... (Ferndale, MI) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Horizon Fitness T52 Treadmill (Sports)
Whew! This year's Tuttleman-Family-B.B.Q. was really something else! I also did my first "meet-a-fan" on Saturday. I'm not going to talk-around about it just yet, because there is just sooooooo many thoughts to collect. I'll be working on it soon, so keep watching. In the meantime, a brand-new review-style has popped into my head tonight! I wanted to capitalize on this RIGHT NOW since I had a REALLY great idea fresh in my mind and didn't want to see it get carried away from my mind. So here it goes. Let's review! First off, I want to introduce my newest innovative review-style, and I will be applying it to a set of reviews titled "House-Hold-Items". For this set of reviews I will be randomly selecting items at home, and reviewing them. Now you may ask, "Howard, how is that innovative?" and I will say "because for one, I will ask Mom or Dad or whoever regularly uses them and get their opinion, then I will use it myself, and compare the opinions." Now, hold on, it gets better. I will ALSO be comparing my opinion with the other Amazon reviews. I know what you're thinking. I can't even believe it myself. I named the review style "One-Stop Reviews", because it contains so many thought-dreams on a single item at one location." Now lets begin.. The first random item at home I picked, was the Horizon T52 FeatherLIGHT Treadmill. Mom usually can be seen going nowhere on this thing. When asked about what she thought about the Horizon T52 FeatherLIGHT. She looked at me dumb-foundly, so I re-phrased the question "Mom, what do you think about your treadmill, you know the Horizon T52 FeatherLIGHT?" I came to a quick conclusion that she didn't even bother learning the surname of the Horizon T52 FeatherLIGHT Treadmill. So I pretty much just walked away, not even wanting to hear what she thought. To me, if you don't care to learn the product's surname, then it's probably not worth using. Well after assuming Mom's opinion, I jumped on the treadmill. SO MANY BUTTONS, I felt like I was at the helm of the Big Star-Trek space-ship or something. The second thing I noticed, was all the amazing features. It would be a nice place to read, with the built in fan, cup-holder, and reading-rack. All you have to do is pull up a bar-stool since the control-panel is a little to tall for a regular-chair. As far as it purpose goes, you can pretty much run as fast as you want....nowhere. I mean it's speed isn't configured for a cheetah, so it's got some sort of limit, but its way out of human-capabilities. Plus, I just discovered another great purpose for it. The next time a good action-movie comes on and I need to take Morris (my dog) for a walk, I could easily tie him to it and he can walk all he wants, while I don't miss any wholesome action-goodness. Now other reviews show that is a good product, just as my review is showing you. The things I disagree with or could possibly disagree with, is things like; "the package was hard to open", or "it was very easy to put together", since I unfortunalty did not experience either. So just using my educated-experiences from the past, I think the package could possibly be a little tricky to open. Nothing a knife or a saw couldn't handle though, I'm sure. What I don't agree with, is how people say it is to put it together. With all the features and buttons, it looks like you have to spend some time with it. In conclusion, the Horizon T52 FeatherLIGHT Treadmill, is a rather good product to go-nowhere on, it makes a cozy reading-desk, and an excellent dog-walker but in the long run, it doesn't impact one's life enough to believe in it enough to remember it's surname. Yeah, your'e probably going to want to read that last sentence over-again. It makes perfect sense to ME. Oh yeah, and 235 lbs. is really not all that "FeatherLIGHT" if you ask me. That part of the name could be rather deceptive if you were looking for like, a portable-thing that you could ride-on at the beach or something. And it's REEEAAALLY expensive, for what it does. And it can only hold a 275 lb. guy on it. Does that seem just the LEAST bit ironic to you guys? Oh, just go do whatever you want anyways. Later.
