About Treadmills
Walking is still considered one of the most beneficial cardiovascular exercises for people of all ages, body types, and fitness levels. As a fundamental form of aerobic training, walking has numerous physical benefits for the heart, lungs, and circulatory system, while also increasing muscle tone and burning fat calories. Treadmills provide a convenient way to regularly exercise in all weather conditions in the comfort and safety of your own home.

From beginners just starting an exercise regimen to advanced athletes looking to maintain their fitness level, anyone interested in getting and staying in shape can benefit greatly from regular use of a treadmill. Treadmills allow you to determine the pace, distance, and complexity of the workout based on your needs, all while watching television, talking on the telephone, or reading a magazine. Much easier on sensitive joints like the knees and hips, treadmill walking and running surfaces are typically long, padded platforms that allow ample room for a long stride and comfortable, low-impact walk or jog without the harsh contact of a concrete surface.

While many different types, styles, and price ranges of treadmills exist, many of them offer unique features like a fold-up design for easy storage, an electronic display monitor showing speed, distance, workout time, incline level, and burned calories, and EKG grip pulses to monitor the heart rate while exercising. Regardless of the simple to complex features you may choose, treadmills offer an array of aerobic exercise opportunities that will provide long-lasting beneficial cardiovascular results without a commute to the gym or a jog in the rain.

5.0 out of 5 stars Even more than advertised, November 13, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Horizon Fitness T10K Treadmill (Sports)
I've only had this treadmill a few days, but I'm impressed by the quality and features. The flexibility of the programs is exceptional; the product description only talks about length-specific programs (e.g., 1K, 2K,5K and 10K). But you can mix these lengths with intervals, weight loss programs, etc. Speed is adjustable in 0.1MPH increments, and incline is adjustable in 0.5% increments. It would be hard to ask for more.

DELIVERY AND SETUP:
I've read quite a few negative reviews about Eagle's delivery service, as well as many people having difficulties with assembling Horizon Fitness treadmills. Happily, I experienced neither of these.

I ordered this on a Friday afternoon. Eagle called me 6 days later to schedule delivery. We scheduled it for the next day (Friday) between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. They arrived at 9:59 a.m., and had the treadmill unloaded and inside my house in under 5 minutes.

I am a petite female, but was able to unpack, assemble and position the treadmill in less than an hour. Don't get me wrong... It's heavy. But you don't have to do any lifting to get it assembled, and it's not terribly difficult to move once it's put together.

Also, one of my favorite features is the easy-lift space saver function. I passed on other treadmills because they were very difficult to fold. This one can almost be lifted with one hand.

The biggest negatives so far are that the heart rate monitor isn't accurate, and the cup holders are way, way too small. But those are minor issues when balanced against all of the other great features.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great treadmill!!!, January 7, 2008

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Horizon Fitness T10K Treadmill (Sports)
My husband and I are very happy with this treadmill. He set it up and didn't seem to have any problems. The pedometer is a cool additional feature but it isn't the most accurate. The other review is correct, the cup holders are small and the heart rate monitor does act up a little bit. But the programs are cool to have and the quick adjust buttons are great, it's really easy to increase/decrease speed and or incline. One thing that took me a while to figure out was how to change program levels, I realized you have to hit the display button and when the L1 starts flashing, use the lincline or speed arrows to change levels. The manual outlines what the different levels do. Overall, very happy with quality of product and would buy again. My husband pushed to buy this for our home, I'm so glad he did. While I may not always get off the couch to do a workout video, I will go watch an hour show recorded on tivo and walk/run on the treadmill for the 45 minutes! Also, didn't have trouble w/delivery service, just that we are impatient so rather than waiting to have it delivered (which would have been another week), we picked it up the day they called to set up delivery from their facility about 20 minutes from our home. They were helpful there and made sure it was securely in my truck before I left.

2.0 out of 5 stars Delivery Mission Impossible!, December 20, 2007
This review is from: Horizon Fitness T10K Treadmill (Sports)
Once I ordered this Treadmill from Amazon things just went downhill. It took two weeks to even get started to delivery, and only when I finally emailed the freight company. (Eagle) They then never called me but subcontracted out to another carrier here in Wva for delivery. When the unit finally got here two weeks after I ordered, the man would not even take it off the truck. He told me he was not paid for that. So I had to get up on the truck and pull the unit off myself. I am sure that if I had hurt my back in doing so,things would have been in my favor. The man then watched me get the box up to the steps of my deck. The box was in terrible condition. Beaten up. When I got it open, outside by the steps the box just crumbled. The guy then stood there like he expected some sort of tip... for what? I could understand if he helped me get the thing up in the house. From here it only got worse...I got the unit in the house and proceeded to put it together and found that the console was damaged. Duh,thinks back to the damaged box..wonder why...I called Horizon and told them about the problem. The man was understanding and promised to send a new console out within a few days and I could just send the old one back to them via a return label. When told about the terrible condition of the box his excuse was that it was hard to find good freight companys now adays! With all the complaints about Eagle and Horizon in general, I am surprised that they have not searched around better for a company that is reputable..or better yet, why not just send it via UPS?? Well, over a week goes by and nothing...I call them up again and the guy I talked to had let the thing sit on his desk for a week. I heard quavering in the voice of the individual that I talked to this time after he had went and talked to the guy I had talked to the first time. So, they knew that they were wrong. This guy then said that he would get the unit out today or the next and it would be here fastest possible via UPS. Well, I finally did get my complete treadmill. It is a good product with a company that provides poor service and very, very poor delivery. I would suggest you look somewhere else if you want either of the two of those things.
