5.0 out of 5 stars A great book for everybody (needs a better ending though)
A darn good book; it has a greatness in every aspect that I think a book should have. I'm an avid reader of the animorph sieries and this is a classic. It starts out as Andria(an Andilite) talking for a couple of chapters then goes to Dak Hamee(a Hork-Bajir seer) then the yeerk who later becomes Visser Three. 2.0 out of 5 stars Why?
I remember being absolutley thrilled when this book came out. I made my mom drive me to the store (I was in jr.high at the time) where I happily purchased the hardcover addition. And while it's a nice-enough addition to the Animorph series, that was it. There was nothing spectacular about it. Just a run-of-the-mill sci-fi story with some mildly entertaining characters...

5.0 out of 5 stars I was amazed..., March 20, 2000
By A Customer
This was a book I could not put down. I have since read it several times and it is just as good each time. A young Andilite travels to the Hork-Bajir world. She soon meats a seer of the more or less dumb people of the Hork-Bajir. He has been gifted with the abilty to learn much faster then the others of his race. The two unsespecting friends cross paths with the yeerk who will soon become the abomination, Visser 3. A yeerk is a parisite that looks like a slug that cralls through your ear into your brain. It then has absolute control. It decides when you will eat, sleep, or even blink. Ending with a betrayal that will destroy nearly the whole Hork-Bajir race this book has a surprise ending. Keep in mind this: good does not always win out over evil. *Please say if this review was helpful*

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best, August 25, 2004
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Hork-Bajir Chronicles (Animorphs) (Paperback)
THe Hork-Bajir Chronicles is a definate must-read in the Megamorphs series. It gives you the whole story behind the Yeerk invasion of the Hork-Bajir world, through the eyes of Aldrea, daughter of Seerow, the Andalite who unleashed the Yeerks into the galaxy. Dak Hamee, the Hork-Bajir seer. ANd Esplin nine-four-double-six, the Yeerk obsessed with Andalites. THis book has some battles, some blood and a little romance.

I'd recomend it to any Animorph fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Begining Of The Yeerk Invasion, May 14, 2003
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Hork-Bajir Chronicles (Animorphs) (Paperback)
The Hork Bajir Chronicles by KA Applegate is an awesome book! This story is about the hork bajir war before the earth invasion. The main characters are Aldrea (daughter of prince Seerow) Dak Hamee (a hork bajir seer) and Esplin 9466 (visser 3). The andalites are trying their best to stop the yeerks from infesting the hork bajir to use their bodies for shock troops.

I like this book because I enjoy animorphs books a lot and it is fun knowing the things that happen before the animorphs. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would rate this book like all other animorphs books a 10.

I think K.A Applegate wrote this book to make a good kids book with action and other things kids find interesting.

4.0 out of 5 stars A pleasing book to read, January 2, 2002

This review is from: The Hork-Bajir Chronicles (Animorphs) (Paperback)
This book is about the battle between the Hork Bajir and the Yeerks. A young Andalite female, Aldrea vows to fight the Yeerks by the side of the Hork Bajir seer, Dak Hamee. Her parents were killed in the fight and she rouse with more anger. But, because of Prince Alloran's deadly mistake, the Hork Bajir world fell to the Yeerks. You will also know about who actually is Visser Three. The prologue and epilogue are touching to read. This book is not a must read for Animorph fans since there are no animorphs in the book. The body is quite boring also. But it is still a good buy for extreme Animorph fans.

This book is narrated excellently.

5.0 out of 5 stars Culturally identical to American thought, February 28, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: The Hork-Bajir Chronicles (Animorphs) (Paperback)
I enjoyed reading the Hork-Bajir Chronicles, and it enlightened me to much about the Andalites, and how the Yeerks came to be such a scourge in the first place. But as I thought more about the contents of the book, the more I felt that much of the values expressed by Aldrea were identical to that of the Americans and colonial Europeans. For instance, Aldrea calls it an evil, and twisted thing for the Arn (whom I quite like) to manipulate genetics because it is against Andalite beliefs and so on. But the Arn are an entirely different race on a different planet, with a different culture which was altered by the comet disaster which struck them. It is not a sin to develop a culture different from the lines of a powerful civilization, with different morals and values, therefore, the portrayal of the Arn in both the Hork Bajir Chornicles and Prophecy as criminal geneticists is something of a parallel to Western peoples' contempt for non-Western cultures.

4.0 out of 5 stars Three Thoughts One Story, October 21, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Hork-Bajir Chronicles (Animorphs) (Paperback)
This story was good at least I thought so I liked it, but I guess it could've been better. However the story was very good. I liked the fact that an andilite and Hork-Bajir would fall in love despite there difference. And the fact that most of the yeerks at the beginning found taking over another's body sick and disturbing (they got a conscious). It also tells U Y the Anddlites aren't exactly the most noble creatures of the universe. It tells U that there's 2 sides to ever story. I kinda feel bad about the ending though and it left alot of questions at least for me. There were many things that U wanted to ask and U'll probably never get the answer too which is Y it didn't get 5 stars. But I did like Dak through he was cool. But one thing though is it just me or does Visser 3 never seem to die I mean really. They never kill him.
