5.0 out of 5 stars Great Tumbler, January 3, 2010

I bought this as an entry level tumbler and I am very satisfied with the product. It handles about 500 9mm brass no problem and they come out gleaming in a couple hours with no media treatment. It is made of high quality plastic and is very durable. This tumbler is a great choice for any re loader even the beginner.

Excellent product, great performance. I'm new to reloading and researched all the tumbler models available. My choice came down to the Hornady M2 for several reasons. Performance and value first, Hornady makes superior products. Then the noise issues, this unit is the quietest of all the models I researched. Sitting 15 ft away on the floor it can't be noticed. The switch on the cord is nice so you don't have to pull the plug to stop it. First run of old .348 brass came out factory new. Would I purchase this model again? Yes! But I don't think I'll have to with the quality in this model, I have recommended it to my other reloading friends.

4.0 out of 5 stars My second one, October 14, 2010
This review is from: Hornady M2 Case Tumbler 110 Volt (Sports)
This is my second M2. The first one I owned developed 4 cracks near the outer edge of the bowl. The cracks ranged from 1/2" to 1-1/2" long. They began to appear after about four years of semi monthly use. First one crack appeared, then two, etc. The cracks got longer with time so I knew it was a matter of time before the bowl would split and dump the media on the floor.

I like the quietness of the unit and the fact that it produced very shiny brass

Despite the failure I ordered a new M2 just like it. The new one has a high quality switch in the electrical cord - very handy feature. I'll be sending in the 2 year warranty card on the new one.

Works great, as advertised. I checked out tumblers from every brand, and they are prone to failure, but this one has been an excellent purchase. I even forgot and left it in for 12 hours once accidentally, it just kept truckin'.

A whole lot quieter than my older Midway model. Does a nice job with ample room for 250+ 45 cases. Very happy with this purchase

Great product - much more quiet than the Frankford Arsenal units I've had - and I've worn out four of those tumblers in six years. The Hornady tumbler takes far less time, too - and I lterally pored the dirty media from my last dead F.A. tumbler into the Hornady unit - and cleaned the .38 cases in ~2.5 hr, where it had taken at least overnite in the past. I was so happy, I dumped the old media, cleaned the red tub, and poured in fresh walnut media - and additive. Bright brass in a few hours - fantastic - well worth the few dollars more than the F.A. unit. Fast delivery via Amazon - great buy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent case tumbler but nothing special about it., November 4, 2011

Just like I said in the title, this unit is decent but there is nothing about it I find better than any other brand's similar design. In fact, this is another one of those products that I have the suspicion comes out of the same factory in China. They seem to use different colored plastic for the differing brands and slap a brand's label on them. My reason for four of five stars is that it seems to be hit or miss on if you get one with a switch on the cord. I read all the reviews saying this one had a switch and yet mine didn't come with one. It was an easy thing to just buy one and install it, but that was supposed to be the one reason alone I bought this model. As for noise, the more you fill the bowl with cases then the more noise you will get. Don't fill it so full and the noise will go way down. I like to use corn cob media in mine. Add a small squirt of cheap car polish and the corn cob works even better. To keep the dust down I like to save the used dryer sheets, cut them into quarters, and then throw a few into the media. They catch a bunch of the dust, grit, and carbon residue that would normally be eating the plastic walls of the bowl and be sticking in your cases. All in all, it wasn't an amazing product, but it was a functional one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quieter than my old Lyman 600, October 10, 2011

This tumbler seems a little sturdier than my old Lyman 600 and is definitely quieter, not to mention the higher capacity. I'm pleased so far.

I bought this unit for coin cleaning and with aquarium gravel and soap + water, it does the job in about 3 hours for most clad coins. Like the way it works and it is well made. I'm pleased with it.

So far this tumbler is performing as expected. Only time will tell if it is durable. Love the look of shiny cases.
