Book Description

Please Note: This eBook has a fixed layout to keep reloading tables intact. Pages are viewed at 100% screen size and phone screens may be too small to read while most Kindle apps do not allow magnification. It is best viewed on full-size Kindles or tablets, rather than smaller hand-held devices. This ebook is not compatible with the Kindle for PC (Windows) app. Some functionality is limited depending on device.
Known limitations include:
Cloud Viewer & Kindle for Windows 8 – does not allow word searches.
Kindle for iPad Air – Does not allow creation of bookmarks or word searches. (an iBook version is available on iTunes with much better functionality)

Reloaders will find the 9th Edition Hornady® Handbook of Cartridge Reloading an invaluable resource for their bench. You'll find over 900 pages representing data of all the newest Hornady® bullets like the NTX®, GMX® and FTX®, plus longtime favorites like the V-MAX™, SST®, InterBond®, InterLock®, A-MAX®, XTP® and more. Each cartridge features applicable Hornady® bullets along with velocity/powder charts for quick and easy reference.

Cartridge additions include the 17 Hornet, 327 Federal, 356 Winchester, 5.56 NATO, 416 Barrett and 505 Gibbs. There is also expanded data on over 20 favorites like the 223 Rem, 300 Whisper, 308 Win, 25-06 and many more. A variety of propellants such as Power Pro Varmint, AR-Comp, CFE-223, among others have been added to many popular cartridges.

In addition to the comprehensive reloading charts, this reference manual provides shooting enthusiasts with in-depth, easy-to-understand explanations of internal, external and terminal ballistics. Coupled with the Hornady® online calculator, shooters will have the tools they need to replicate the environment where they plan to shoot. Whether a novice or seasoned reloader, these resources provide everything needed to successfully reload your favorite cartridges.

Please be sure to check www.hornady.com/errata for corrections to the load data.

I have been needing this manual but seen it available in digital format. that makes it better and worth the cost. I'll be getting a lot of use of this.

2.0 out of 5 stars Formatting Problems March 30, 2014
By RWSS

This is a good book but the Kindle version has some serious formatting issues in certain areas of the book. Some charges will not show up in B & W, and in a couple of areas the pages are out sized. PG 860 for example

4.0 out of 5 stars Missing features on iPad January 31, 2014
Verified Purchase
NOTE: The problems listed below are specific to the iPad, and it is my understanding that they do not exist in iBooks version. I have upgraded my rating to reflect the fact that the Kindle software -- not Hornady -- is to blame for these shortcomings.

I have the printed version of this book as well, so I knew, generally, what to expect. Newcomers should be aware that only Hornady bullets are listed, although this is neither surprising nor particularly detrimental.

I was disappointed to find that the user is not given the ability to search, which would be a tremendous asset in a reference volume such as this. The consolation for this loss is that a caliber's data can be found by clicking on its name in the Table of Contents. This utility, however, is lessened by the fact that each trip to the Contents requires you to first digitally thumb past four unrelated pages before reaching the list of calibers.

Substantially more disappointing is the inability to create bookmarks. I should be able to bookmark the calibers that I load, so I'm not constantly having to click here and swipe there in order to once again find frequently accessed data.

3.0 out of 5 stars load information lacking February 21, 2014
Verified Purchase
On some calibers, there is very little load information. Hornady left out some of the most popular powders on some of the most popular grains.

Dont know what prehistoric devices the critics here are using, but Ipad2 works fine.. dont hesitate!.. no issues, and this works aok... my pad comes to the man cave while reloading, and i can check the hornady handbook while listening to tom grisham's guntalk podcasts and putting the dillion 650 or Redding T7 through their paces.. get it!

1.0 out of 5 stars Can't read it... June 24, 2014
Verified Purchase
I'm using a Windows 8 computer with the compatible Kindle app. The text is so small it's barely legible IF I push my face against the computer screen. When dealing with load data the accuracy of the chart is everything, and the difference between whether or not a number is a 6 or an 8 is HUGE. This version sucks. Waste of Money.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not for tablet use April 14, 2014
Verified Purchase
Hornady's engineering (and Emery's) superb!! However, the Kindle version is over-lawyered to the point where the recommended accessory is eye surgery, specatcles, and a magnifying glass. Unreadable on my HP Slate 7 table. They need to get out of the windows 95 era.

I will have to buy the print version for actual use.

1.0 out of 5 stars Barely legible don't bother February 4, 2014

It looks like a bad xerox copy that was scanned and uploaded. I can't read the numbers and the colored borders on the pages obscure the text.
