My daughter's favorite Boynton,

I bought _Horns to Toes_ for our daughter when she was nine months old, and it quickly became a favorite. This book has a catchy rhyme, which makes it very easy to memorize, so we can recite it on demand no matter where we are (it was so popular when I recited it to the kids at daycare, I had to teach it to her teachers!). We combined the words with gestures, and our daughter learned her body parts before she was a year old. She is now 16-months and still enjoys "dancing" to the words.

Not a classic, but still fun,
This review is from: Horns to Toes and in Between (Board book)
This book is about our equipment: eyes, arms, teeth, backs, tails, etc. As we read this book, my daughter looks for the appropriate items on herself, her dolls, and sometimes me! After she figures out that we don't have those big tails, she's done with this. The pictures are cute, the rhyme scheme works, but its hit or miss. This author has a lot of different books that appeal to a lot of different kids, so if this doesn't sound like something new or right for you, keep looking -- there's probably a perfect Boynton book for your child.

Another great book by Boynton!,

This review is from: Horns to Toes and in Between (Board book)
This, like Boyton's other books, is one of my daughter's favorites. The rhymes are catchy and easy to read, and my daughter loves pointing to each of her body parts. Better for kids 1-1/2 to 2.

Teaches anatomy in a fun way,
By A Customer
This review is from: Horns to Toes and in Between (Board book)
This is a terrific book with a short rhyme on each page showing cuddly animal monsters pointing out their anatomy as they do everyday behaviors like eating or walking. My son loves this book. He points to his own eyes, ears, mouth, arms, etc. as the book discusses each body part. The pictures are colorful and there's just the right amount of text per page.

My daughter learned her body parts w/ this book.,

We've had a lot of good times reading this one. Kimberly had the names of her body parts down pat at an early age, and I know this book helped. She also learned to count to ten early with the counting of the fingers in here.

Not the Best Boynton,
By A Customer
This review is from: Horns to Toes and in Between (Board book)
We have been reading to my son since he was just a few weeks old. After a few months he already had a few books which were his favorites - one of which was Boynton's Moo, Baa, La La La. We went out and got more of her books expecting the same reaction. We weren't disappointed, except for this one. For whatever reason (we suspect it is too wordy and doesn't have the catchy rhymes like the others tend to have) our son (now 10 months old) won't let us get past the first page of this book without crawling away or closing the book shut. Our son would rather play with and be read books than play with most of his toys. This one just doesn't cut it. We recommend Opposites, Barnyard Dance, and Doggies (Doggies is annoying for adults to read, but he loves it). We'll continue to explore her books, but at least so far, this one is not the best Boynton.

SILLY, SEUSS LIKE FUN!,
This review is from: Horns to Toes and in Between (Board book)
Sandra Boynton is the heir apparent to Dr. Seuss with her funny, unique style of cartooning as well as her sing-song, wacky rhyming texts. This little book about three horned monsters describing themselves from the horns on the top of their heads, down to their toes is yet another winner from Sandra.
My two year-old loves all of her books and the sillier the better. I often have to read them four or five times in a row before I can switch to another book. Fantastic!

I love this book for my two and my three year old sons. It makes a game out of learning their nose and toes... I like just about every board book by Sandra Boynton, and more importantly my kids do too! They actually read them back to us, they have heard them so many times... by request.

Great catchy tune--fun for anywhere,

Horns to Toes has been a favorite of my son's (and his daddy and me) from when he was a baby. I used to "sing" the words to him anywhere--in the car, when he was fussy, or just to pass the time. We still read it and act the words out--he especially loves the tickling part. He's almost 4 now and now "reads" the Sandra Boynton books to us!
