Street Directories were a commonplace across Britain in the Nineteenth and Twentieth centuries. Telephone directories have never provided listings of inhabitants on a street-by-street basis, as did the original town directories. This information is not available from the United Kingdom Census after 1901. This reprint provides an invaluable source book for family, local and social historians.
