5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best from Daniel Amos!!!
If you like Daniel Amos and dont have this cd you are missing on one of their best albums!! This one has a style similar to (beatles , ELO). I think this is one of the best CCM albums from the 70's eventhough because of problems with Larry Norman this album came out months before Alarma came out!! Also if you are gonna buy this cd dont buy the one that says "Historical...

2.0 out of 5 stars Great Classic Album -- Hideous Reproduction
For anyone who knows the music of Terry Scott Taylor and, especially, the beginnings of Daniel Amos and contemporary Christian music, Horrendous Disc is the definition of a classic. This fact makes such a poor quality reproduction that much more of a tragedy and a crime.

Not only should those who oversaw it's production be ashamed of themselves, but the...

I think this is one of the best CCM albums from the 70's eventhough because of problems with Larry Norman this album came out months before Alarma came out!! Also if you are gonna buy this cd dont buy the one that says "Historical Archive Series" on top as a very bad job was done remastering it!! (sounds awful like a kid did the remaster) . Get the 2003 version that says on top " The classic Daniel Amos Album" and also has an oval shape on bottom left that says "Solid Rock Presents Larry NOrman, Daniel Amos,Randy Stonehill, Mark Heard LIMITED EDITIONS). With this version Larry (Solid Records) did a very nice job and the sound is very good!!!!

For anyone who knows the music of Terry Scott Taylor and, especially, the beginnings of Daniel Amos and contemporary Christian music, Horrendous Disc is the definition of a classic. This fact makes such a poor quality reproduction that much more of a tragedy and a crime.

Not only should those who oversaw it's production be ashamed of themselves, but the retailers who sell it should be forced to listen to Carmen albums for a month without a potty break. In this case, be alerted to the sellers from whom my copy was purchased - Indie Music Café. My understanding from other reviewers is that there are two different versions of the CD -- one with an oval info box at the bottom of the cover and one without (you can read other reviews for better descriptions how to know the difference). Knowing this, I even emailed these guys and asked specifically that they send me the 'right' one. No response, so I was left to hope I got the better version. Alas, I got the bad one. Thanks, you terrific service-oriented folks at Indie Café!

My advice to you, if you care to get the version of DA's HD that was remixes with love and care and a priority on top quality, is buy it from a source you can be sure will provide you with the best version. Apparently, Indie Café doesn't prioritize that sort of concern for their trusting customers.

But, I should add, even with less than best production value, it's a pleasure to hear this album again. It's outstanding in every way (except, of course, for the remix and production).

Beatle-esque and Terry Taylor-esque. Maybe the best CCM album of the late 70's early 80's .

It is that good. Weird but wonderful.
