Editorial Reviews

First gathered together in Southampton in the year 2000 - with the formative ambition of being slower and heavier than the slowest, heaviest band you can think of - Moss is known for unleashing true audial darkness and claustrophobia upon their listeners. After 13 years, how can they push the envelope any further than it has already been pushed? Enter 2013's Horrible Night. Recorded during the summer and autumn of 2012 at Hampshire's Earth Terminal and London's Earthworks studios, Horrible Night is the sound of MOSS emerging from its cocoon a much more savage, intelligent and all the more terrifying beast.

Most Helpful Customer Reviews

5 of 5 people found the following review helpful By Scott Rosenbluth on April 11, 2013
Format: Audio CD
Yes you know what to expect from Doom metal outfit Moss. Do they deliver it? You betcha. This release is actually more melodic and slightly, just slightly, faster than previous primordial giant sloth paced efforts. The death inspired vocals are almost gone completely however, replaced by a standard doom croon the likes of which Witchsorrow or Pallbearer employ. The guitar tone is still sickeningly crushing and the low end just buries you. I prefer older records but this still rocks adequately. Burn and learn why Moss are slower than slow, lower than low.
