5.0 out of 5 stars Watch it and love it, then listen to the music again
Dr. Horrible is a straight to Web 3-part special by Joss Whedon. It has superb writing, humor, music and a certain charm to it.

If you haven't seen this, head on over to www.drhorrible.com and watch it for free as the musical portions are only a fraction of the whole thing and it won't make much sense without the full context.

3.0 out of 5 stars You'll LOVE it or HATE it
Personally I love it. Its a goofy lil thing, but its shockingly amazing with an awesome cast.

The problem I have with this is the price for the soundtrack seems to be rather expensive since the DVD is basically the same with visual and it cost the same. I Feel this shouldnt cost more than $7.00, BUT that is just my opinion.

After having seen it multiple times, I'm still floored by the high quality and wonderful production values and just had to have the MP3s to listen to at work.

"A man's gotta do" and "My eyes" are phenominal. I personally like the Bad Horse ones, but they're so short you can't fully call them songs. "Brand new day" and "Slipping" are both very good as well.

The whole thing is just superb and worth owning for anyone who enjoys a good sci-fi muscial humorous tragedy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Joss does it again., September 30, 2008

All hail Joss Whedon and his merry troupers. If you are hooked on the soundtrack to the musical Buffy episode "Once More With Feeling", you'll also adore this soundtrack. Felicia Day (BtVS, The Guild), Neil Patrick Harris (Doogie Howser M.D., How I Met Your Mother) and Nathan Fillion (BtVS, Firefly, Desperate Housewives) are a delightful surprise on vocals. As enjoyable to hear as it is to watch.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another reason to love Joss Whedon, October 16, 2008
This review is from: Dr. Horrible's Sing-along Blog (Motion Picture Soundtrack) (MP3 Download)
Nine bucks is a little steep for an album that clocks in under twenty-five minutes, especially since you don't even get a hard copy. (Unless you burn one yourself, of course.) But if you're a fan of the wonderful mini-musical, it's worth every cent. The charm, wit, and professionalism you expect from Joss Whedon, with some surprisingly good vocals. If you choose to wait, Maurissa Tancharoen, one of the lyricists, has stated on drhorrible.net that they will likely release a CD (with lyrics!) at a later date.

4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect... almost., February 4, 2009

If you're a Dr. Horrible fan, this is a must have. The included liner notes feature the song lyrics and behind-the-scene photos. The only thing that kept me from giving this 5 stars is the omission of "Commentary! The Musical", the all singing commentary track found on the DVD.

I loved the music from this fun short movie when it first came out, so when I saw they were selling the CD I bought it right away. The only problem is that, when you strip away the video, some of the songs are left open-ended with no clear ending. Of course, if you've seen the video, you don't really mind it, but if not, I can see how it might be a bit confusing for some people. Having said that, I still think these songs are Broadway worthy and Neil Patrick Harris should seriously think about doing one in the future. I've listened to it way more than I'd like to admit. Pretty much once every day since I bought it. I hope Joss Whedon has a follow-up planned. He's very talented.

I fell in love with Joss Whedon's project here the first time I watched it for free online. Loved it even more the second time I saw it... and the third, and so on. In my opinion Dr. Horrible is nothing shy of being utterly addictive to the point of where they'll have 12-step programs for it in the future. It's a joy to partake in and can be listened to time and time again without it losing any of its magic. Consequently I had no problem plopping down $8.99 for this soundtrack the second I saw it available on Amazon here, (I'm not much an iUniverse person), and I can not recommend buying this yourself highly enough. Frankly, "Brand New Day" alone is wroth the price of admission; getting the rest for this steal of a price is delightful gravy on top of a full Thanksgiving diner.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic, December 20, 2008
Joss Whedon did it again. He wrote another great, artistic and thoughtful show. For those of you familiar with Once More, With Feeling, the musical episode of Buffy The Vampire Slayer, this show's music is somewhat reminiscent of it, although it does have a new style to it also. The music and lyrics and well-written and executed, especially on My Eyes and Penny's Song, and the melodies will run through your head long afterwards. Cheers to Whedon for another great work!

I love Dr Horrible and it's so great to have the music available to me now. My only complaint is that it doesn't play in my car CD player. Not entirely sure why but I ripped it to my Zune and play it through there now.
