From School Library Journal
Grade 2-3-The latest installment in this series again features a boy whose general meanness goes entirely unchecked. Four episodic chapters provide Henry with ample opportunity for malice, at home and at school. His bout with head lice provides just another opportunity to squirm out of a bad situation by making things worse for others. Further, Simon presents an unlikely scenario-over 40 lice in Henry's hair at home, but not a single egg on his head when he is checked at school the next morning. The author may have intended this to be a silly romp, but she doesn't have the clever, light touch of Jon Scieszka or Dav Pilkey. No doubt the title will draw in certain reluctant readers who need the format of a beginning chapter book, and Ross's droll line drawings will appeal to them, but this title offers little beyond a view of a developmentally stagnant boy who preys on others.
